My second favorite album by any artist of any genre!,
This review is from: Thinkin About You (Audio CD)
I bought this album on a whim, persuaded by the many e-mails of one of my best friends. It turned out to be an awesome CD.Up to that time, I had only heard the sing-a-long classic XXXs and OOOs. As you play this CD, you'll sing along with many of the tunes from the dreamy "Thinkin' About You" to the serene "Bus to St. Cloud". The one song that strikes me the most is "You Can Sleep While I Drive". It's well written and Trisha sings it better than any other song, I think. If you're planning to add this to your collection, be prepared to replace this CD a few times as you'll burn it out from replaying some of the songs.

Every Song Tells A Story,
By Gennie Bailey (Savannah, Georgia United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thinkin About You (Audio CD)
"Thinkin' About You" can honestly be labeled as Trisha's most emotional release to date. Trisha's vocals are immaculate and her choice in singles is downright brilliant. The songs on the album all tell a story and who better to tell them than such a talented artist. You can relate to every single, no matter who you are. If you're in love and you want everyone to know, then you'll enjoy "Thinkin' About You". If you're the adventurous type who doesn't want to be held down, "I Wanna Go Too Far" is right up your alley. If you're like me and you want a moody-get-in-your-car-at-3am-to-drive-around-with-your-honey-and-not-know-where-you're-going-to-song, then the Melissa Etheridge penned "You Can Sleep While I Drive" is what you're begging to hear. It's one of her best recordings if you want my opinion. Other highlights include "XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl), the haunting "On A Bus To St. Cloud", the cover of Tammy Wynettes's "Till I Get It Right", and "O Mexico". If I could suggest just one Trisha Yearwood album to you, "Think' About You" is it. This is Trisha at her most country and most emotional and absolute best! Gennie Bailey-Rogers

Isn't this Linda Ronstadt????,
By A Customer
This review is from: Thinkin About You (Audio CD)
If you close your eyes and listen to Trisha Yearwood's "Thinkin" About You", you would swear you were listening to a Linda Ronstadt album. It sounds so much like Linda in her 70's heyday, it's uncanny. And it's a better album then anything Linda has done since the 70's. There are some really good country/rock songs here, inclduing the title track, but three ballads are the real highlights. "On a Bus to St. Cloud" is very sad and touching, and "You Can Sleep While I Drive" is too pretty to believe it was written by the usually overwrought Melissa Etheridge. And "Til I Get It Right", an old Tammy Wynette song that closes the cd, is the most beautifully sung performance Trisha has ever done. This is much better then the follow up cd, "Everybody Knows", and the one Trisha Yearwood cd to get if you're only getting one.

Every cut a good one,

This review is from: Thinkin About You (Audio CD)
This CD is one you can put in and leave. Every cut is incredible. "On a Bus to St. Cloud" touches the heart like very few songs can. If you have ever loved and lost and do not feel moved by this song, your soul is empty.

A classy singer does it again,

Trisha is one of the most intelligent singers in the business - she could have had a very successful career outside music, if she had never made it as a singer. Trisha realized very early that, providing she included a couple of radio-friendly songs to keep the hits coming, she could fill the rest of each album with songs that she really wanted to record. The results are clear for all to hear on this set, which opens with two catchy songs (the title track and XXX's and OOO's) that both reached number one on the country charts, but then continues with a series of reflective ballads that demonstrate Trisha's true artistry, interrupted by just two more up-tempo songs, Restless kind and I wanna go too far. Highway 101 had previously recorded Restless kind when Nikki Nelson was their lead singer, for their Bing bang boom album. Later, Travis Tritt also covered the song.Perhaps the best of the ballads are You can sleep while I drive (a cover of a Melissa Etheridge song) and On a bus to St Cloud (written by the brilliant songwriter and under-rated singer, Gretchen Peters). Trisha also does excellent covers of Those words we said (Kim Richey) and Till I get it right (Tammy Wynette). Fairytale (another wonderful song) is an original although I've heard other songs with the same title. O Mexico is yet another brilliant song. This album was originally issued in Europe with three extra tracks - Two days from knowing, Jackie's house and Bartender blues (a duet with George Jones that appeared on his album, Bradley barn sessions). That edition, which I have, is no longer available. The Australian edition includes all those tracks plus Save the land. If you are fortunate enough to be able to track down one of those editions, you are in for a real treat. If not, there is still plenty worth hearing in the standard American edition. This album provides a great introduction to Trisha's music and is definitely one of her finest original albums.

On A Bus To St Cloud,
By
This review is from: Thinkin About You (Audio CD)
Trisha Yearwood's 1995 album THINKIN ABOUT YOU is often overlooked, which is a shame. Many know it for its hits, like the title track and "XXX's and OOO's (An American Girl)", which both fared well on country charts. Those are great songs, but only the tip of the iceberg. Sadly only those two singles performed well on the charts, the others simply crashed and burned. Other singles included her cover of Melissa Etheridge's "You Can Sleep While I Drive", the Gretchen Peters written "On A Bus To St. Cloud", and the uptempo "I Wanna Go Too Far". Yearwood turns in powerful performances on "You Can Sleep While I Drive" and "On A Bus To St. Cloud", which are arguably the best songs on this album. A few tracks here are remakes, such as Trisha's version of the Tammy Wynette classic "Till I Get It Right". Travis Tritt later redid "The Restless Kind" for his 1996 album of the same name, but Trisha's version has a certain spunk to it. Other highlights include the regretful "Those Words We Said", and "O Mexico" and "Fairytale". Overall give this album a listen, might not be her best but don't miss it.

Six years later and I still love every song on this CD! One of my favorites is "St. Cloud". The whole collection of music on this CD goes from being a strong woman, the soft touch of a woman, heart break, and love.Trisha Yearwood, thank you for a great collection of songs on one CD!! This has been well worth [the price].

WOW! I LOVE Trisha's music, but this, must surely, be some of her best!. the one that stands out, above the rest, at least to me, Is " On A Bus To ST.Cloud" It's depth, soul touching effect, & lasting ability, to reach Inside, & do something, as we Identify with the pain loss, & healing process. I've allway's been moved, by this song... a part of her, se left, with, with us............ 5- STARS!

This is a great album. All of the 10 songs are excellent, definately worth the wait for this album. Thinkin About You and XXX's And OOO's (An American Girl) became instant hits for Trisha. The album also contains other great songs like the cover of Melissa Etheridge's You Can Sleep While I Drive, Gretchen Peters On A Bus To St Cloud, and songs like Fairytale, The Restless Kind, and so much more. Definately check this one out!

Good album,
This review is from: Thinkin About You (Audio CD)
This is a real nice album. Trisha has a great voice and these are good songs. The only reason it gets 4 stars is that I don't like "XXX's and OOO's" much. It got way too much airplay at the time and is a bit repetitive. But the other songs are good. I particularly like the Melissa Etheridge song "You can sleep while I drive", and the Gretchen Peters song "On a bus to St. Cloud". The 12 page booklet contains all lyrics and photos of Trish.
