Re: Rex Foster - Chuck Pyle says, "Rex Foster has the four winds in his voice and Mother Earth in his heart, and when he puts it to music, I believe it" And C.J. Berkman of "The Redneck Poet" says, "He's as much a part of Texas music as Billy Joe Shaver or Townes Van Zandt."
Re: Jack Tannehill - Noteworthy songwriter, William Kitchens wrote, "Man...I don't write too many artists. I was just checking some stuff out from some people who had my stuff on their stations and found your stuff. Anyway, I'm listening to your music (stuff) right now and feel like music is OK again. Thanks for being!" And singer/songwriter/critic Serena Matthews left this in Jack's guestbook, "I can't remember the last time I have felt so high listening to a song. Your talent bedazzles me. How could I never have heard of you before?? It's an injustice to the world that more people don't know about you." Also one of Jack's songs, "Make It Easy" won first place in a song contest on June 24, 2002 at MakeAStar.com
Re: Danny Schmidt - James D. Graham of the Cville Weekly says,"His guitar playing is nothing short of superlative, and his calm gentle demeanor evokes the wisdom of an old-growth forest." And Bob Thiele of Nashville says, "He is hands down one of the best living musician/poets that I am aware of."
Re: Kate and Paul (aka Quarter Moon) - Ralph Litwin of Horses Sing None of It says, "Warm personalities, tight harmonies and sterling guitar show off well crafted melodies and lyrics." And Bill Nutt, Community Forum & WNTI DJ says of their first album, "The rhythms are diverse, the harmonies thrilling - all in all an auspicious first album."
Re: Will Hoppey - The Nebula Music Magazine said this about Will's album titled "Acoustic": "Hoppey echoes some of the best attributes of giants such as James Taylor..." And Songwriters Monthly had this to say, "Extremely talented. Will spins a tale equal in message and craft to Harry Chapin."
Re: Norman Lamont - One writer says, "Norman's lyrics are vivid with imagery and yet, never invasive. You want to hear them. You listen very hard. They've got that lovely unexpected twist that gives you a clear picture of a different point of view and, I'm happy to report.. there's NO PAIN! What a relief. Someone who sings about life that's not drenched in pain. It's just so interesting. Rich in observation expressed in colorful metaphor. Outward looking, not inward obsessing." Also in 2001 Norman was a runner-up at the String Jam Club's Musician of the Year competition and won the award for best song with The Ballad of Bob Dylan.
Further information can be found at the web sites of the individual artists each of which is accessible by using the artist name as the domain such as rexfoster.com etc.
Hope you enjoy listening to this CD as much as I enjoyed working on this project -- S. Sevek, IndieCDs Recording Group

Interesting approach and collaboration but not exceptional,

I bought this out of general interest in Dylan cover compendiums having into double figures of such LPs and CDs in my collection. The interesting thing for me has always been how many artistes are better at interpreting the man's songs than himself and this selection has the added touch of songs by each participant as well as the Dylan contribution. While it was clearly an enjoyable event for the arranger of the event (per the CD liner notes) and the performers based on the two attached reviews by participants, I fear I did not find the overall quality of performance or interpretation that great across the whole CD compared with the other Dylan compilation bought at the same time from Amazon ("Dylan Uncovered"). One for mainly manic Dylan collectors I fear.

Thinking About Bob from the perspective of a muscian.,

This is Kate, from Kate & Paul. I just would like to thank Amazon for posting this item for sale. It was a great collaborative project with fabulous singer songwriters from across the nation and the globe. Our haunting and emotional cover of "I Believe in You" was arranged by our bassist, Jim Gilheany, formerly of Kings in Disguise and Sonny Rhodes. It was recorded and produced by Gene Perla, a superb jazz performer who tours the world. Mandolin is performed by Jamie Coan, formerly of "From Good Homes". This four-piece collaboration is now called "Quarter Moon". Links for Quarter Moon bio and shows can be found on the kateandpaulband.com web site. We are in process of recording more songs over this year. "I Believe in You" has received heavy airplay on WDVR, Sergeantsville,NJ and WNTI, Hackettstown, NJ. Thank you to Steve Sevek of IndieCD's for pulling this all together! Enjoy the music, folks. kate

I produced this CD. I am not a record producer by any stretch of the imagination. But in today's world anyone can compile and release an album, even an album which includes cover songs. It isn't difficult to get the licensing etc. [It just involves a commitment to report sales and pay royalties]I just wanted to say that this has been a learning experience for me. And I wanted to let any potential buyers know that this album is now out of print. Inventory is extremely limited. However on June 1, 2011 a new album was released which also features songs by Jack Tannehill and Will Hoppey along with Steve Lane. The new album is called If Not For You - A Tribute To Bob Dylan. If you collect Dylan songs covered by other artists, you may want to add this to your collection before it becomes very rare and possibly difficult to find. You can still find audio clips on the web if you search by the album's title.
