Thinking and Destiny,
By skh@telcomplus.net (United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thinking and Destiny (Hardcover)
Thinking and Destiny by H.W. Percival is one of the most remarkable books ever written. It deals with the age-old question, Quo Vadis? Where did we come from? Why are we here? Where are we going? He explains how our own thoughts become our destiny, as acts, objects, and events, in our individual lives. That each of us is responsible for these thoughts, and their affects on us and others. Percival shows us that what appears as "chaos" in our daily lives has a purpose and Order which can be seen if we will begin to focus our thinking, and begin Real Thinking, as outlined in his masterpiece. Percival himself acknowledges he is neither and preacher nor a teacher, but presents to us a cosmology based upon Intellingence. A Universe of Order and Purpose. No metaphysical book has ever presented the clear, concise, information that is available in this book. Truly inspired and inspirational

A Lifetime Companion,
This review is from: Thinking and Destiny (Paperback)
Percival's "Thinking and Destiny" should end any serious seeker's search for accurate written information about life. The author demonstrates that he knows whereof he speaks. Completely unique in this genre, there is no fuzzy religious language and no speculations. If you wonder about who you are, why you are here, the nature of the universe or the meaning of life then Percival will not let you down. Especially interesting are his numerous explanations that clarify such mysterious topics as original sin, immaculate conception, the fall of man and the reason for the sexes. His answers to these questions are lucid, authoritative and surprising. The road ahead for each thinking person is made plain and his exposition of The Great Way ranks as the best ever written. Dense with details and clearly presented, like all great work Percival reduces his tome to principles that any sincere person can understand and do. One thing for sure: after reading "Thinking and Destiny" you will have set into motion the thoughts that will propel you toward your real future. Be prepared!

Incomparable,
By David Crocco (New Palestine, IN) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thinking and Destiny (Paperback)
There must be others like me, who, even as children realized that something was wrong with the world. Things were not right, and worse, the explanations given for the questions we raised were unsatisfying, if not outright lies. Becoming an adult only magnified the distance between what was and what we thought should be. This book explains as none other, and I think I have read them all, what life is and what it is not. The difficult truths Percival reveals are often what we might have feared but dared not think: we alone are responsible for our lives. This is tough stuff, and Percival's solutions to discovering who and what we are are enough to frighten away the casual pop seeker who thinks he is enlightened already. But for the rare individual who is weary of the incessant emptiness of life, Thinking and Destiny is a gem beyond price.

A master work in it's field,
By A Customer
This review is from: Thinking and Destiny (Paperback)
A book written in the 1920's, judged to be too radical for the times it was introduced is now here for a more open era. Thinking and Destiny has past the test of time, a reading that seems just as fresh as if it were printed yesterday. A master work in it's field, the book offers amazing insights into the subject of man, and his relationship to the universe around him. Clearly written, reasonable, most parts understandable, a full head and shoulders above most in the genre. Once read, the book will change the view point of many hardcore fundamentalist. The author, H.W.Pecival never recieved or seeked any fame or compansation for his work a testimony to his search for truth.

This type of Info being corroborated by Scientific Research,
By Margaret C. Jacob "grail buff" (Dallas, OR United States) - See all my reviews (VINE VOICE) (REAL NAME)
This review is from: Thinking and Destiny (Paperback)
Lynn McTaggert's latest book The Intention Experiment documents lots of recent great scientific research at top universities that verifies in many respects what Percival says about Consciousness. He simply says that our type of thinking creates our destiny, and with all the detail that makes so much sense in light of lots of mystery school teachings, it is in all likelihood very true, and can be put to the test in our lives. One area where Percival may not agree with other sages is the area of sexuality. One might want to read more about Tantric wisdom to be a better judge of that. . . otherwise, very great book documenting one person's experience of being "conscious of consciousness".

A book for any seeker of life knowledge,
By Santocav "santocav" (Brisbane Australia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Thinking and Destiny: The Descent of Man - The Eternal Order of Progression (Hardcover)
This book answers the questions of life that thousands of books, particularly in this 'new age' don't.
It can't be read like a typical book. It is hard to just pick up and read cover to cover and get much from it. You need to take it slowly and digest the wisdom in it. Even a single sentence can sometimes take a while to absorb. Be patient and this companion will open a new way of thinking for you.

THINKING AND DESTINY,
This review is from: Thinking and Destiny (Paperback)
I was 21 years old when I picked this book up and started reading it, I am now 63 years old. I bought the book at a small Hollywood book store which sold used books. To make a long story short, after reading the first chapter I laid the book down for ten years because it blew my mind...again after 18 years I went back to the book and read another three chapters; but still could not handle the knowledge; and it was again stored it away. Till this very day I have not gone back for the book, even though it clearly holds a mountain of profound truths. I know that in my last days, my mind will force me to revisit those truths, one final time.
If your mind and brains have the fortitude to seek "The Great Way" then you are surly that-one doer in a million. Good Luck- |
