About the Author
Susan L. Flader is professor at the University of Missouri at Columbia, where she teaches environmental history and policy and the history of the Western United States. She is the coeditor with Baird Callicott of The River of the Mother of God and Other Essays by Aldo Leopold, also published by the University of Wisconsin Press.

This book is not the Aldo Leopold essay "Thinking like a Mountain", but a history of his life and work. It is interesting, but mostly a history book. If you want inside the mind of Aldo Leopold, just buy Sand County Almanac. The other essay collections are good also, as I have read most of them. I would not spend my money again on this book though.
