Amazon has it backwards: Walzer wrote the essays; Miller selected them.,

This review is from: Thinking Politically: Essays in Political Theory (Hardcover)
Having just bought Thinking Politically, I can't say yet whether it lives up to my high expectations. My reason for writing is that Amazon errs in listing David Miller as an author or co-author. Thinking Politically is a collection of essays by Michael Walzer, the best university teacher I ever had. David Miller selected the essays for publication and wrote the introduction.
As I seem to need to rate the book in order to publish the above comment, I'm relying on my familiarity with several of Walzer's books, including The Revolution of the Saints: A Study in the Origins of Radical Politics, Obligations: Essays on Disobedience, War, and Citizenship, Spheres of Justice: A Defense of Pluralism and Equality, Just And Unjust Wars: A Moral Argument With Historical Illustrations, and Arguing About War (Yale Nota Bene), as well as his many essays in Dissent magazine. |
