5.0 out of 5 stars the sounds of heaven
This recent CD is one of my favorites. There is a simplicity to the compositions with the melodies having an almost folk tune quality to them. "Fiesta" makes my spirit soar ! This is music of such purity and like a sunset or a starry night, is serene and uplifting. The packaging also echoes the simplicity. In black and white with the titles in blue ink, and a...

3.0 out of 5 stars Certainly not Kitaro's best
If you agree with me that Kitaro's best works are Dream (the best), The Soong Sisters, some of the Heaven and Earth soundtrack, and even Millennia (no longer available), you probably will agree that this one doesn't measure up as well. I would put it on par with Mandala. There are two or three good pieces, and I still listen to it because Kitaro's medicore works are...

This is music of such purity and like a sunset or a starry night, is serene and uplifting. The packaging also echoes the simplicity. In black and white with the titles in blue ink, and a beautiful photo (by Kitaro) of an old piano. It has no commentary, letting the music speak for itself. Bravo Kitaro !

5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, November 3, 1999
By A Customer

Kitaro has done it again, but the best. Thinking of Youis so beautiful and romantic. It has a Native American Indian flavor to it with a spice of romance. It is sweet, melodious, exotic, and expressive. It is worth buying it. It brings out the dancer in me.

5.0 out of 5 stars Kitaro is a master at creating music that touches the spirit, December 18, 1999
This review is from: Thinking of You (Audio CD)
This CD would be an excellent choice for dinner music or romantic interludes. I love it as I do all his work, but not as much as his more guitar oriented releases. His CD's Mandala and Kojiki are my favorites with their more powerful nature and passionate guitars. And I just found three excellent progressive rock CD's of his early pre-Kitaro work with a band called Far East Family Band. This was before the influence of Tangerine Dream's Klaus Schulze and electronic space music period. I would highly recommend trying all of his music.

I have been listening to Kitaro for 2 decades and this album is the blossoming of his talent put into music. With this album one can go very deep into the beauty of one's own being. I very highly recommend it.

What a masterpiece! Thinking of you is an excellent blend of Kitaro's 'new' style of music blended together with his founding style. I strongly believe this to be one of his best albums.

4.0 out of 5 stars A mix of earlier styles, August 2, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: Thinking of You (Audio CD)
This is an interesting mix of the slow moving, tranquil sounds we got in Silk Road II, with the majestic, moving pieces we got in Light of the Spirit. This is good overall, but not his best work. Long live the Kitaro field!

Well, I think this is one of the best album I bought. Kitaro really knows how to do music for the spirit. I like the new instruments Kitaro used for this album (Especially the Quena and the Zampoña). "You have to hear this album is really great!"

4.0 out of 5 stars As good as it gets without introducing anything new, February 12, 2006
This review is from: Thinking of You (Audio CD)
Simply put, this album contains two kinds of tracks; - ambient soundscapes with sampled nature, calm atmospheres and peaceful synth-pads; and new-age/pop compositions, pretty structured if not a bit over-produced, but gorgeously arranged and polished by the master himself. What else can I say? Only that with all the catchy flutey melodies flying around my head, I still prefer the ambient ones?

5.0 out of 5 stars Back to his roots!!!, August 16, 2003
This review is from: Thinking of You (Audio CD)
I have been a fan of Kitaro for years, and I am glad to hear that he has returned to his roots. This CD brings back thoughts of Flying Celestial Nymphs ,Tenku, and Silk Roads but, with a more traditional sound. Of course his earlier works will always remain his best by far, and his later CD's became more of a commercial success. But on "Thinking of You", he has returned to true his origin. Kitaro has a way of taking you on a journey through mind, body, and soul and this CD does just that!!!!!
