Excellent source,
This review is from: Thinking as You Play: Teaching Piano in Individual and Group Lessons (Paperback)
As a new piano pedagogy teacher, I was looking for something to help me objectify the lesson-planning process for my students. How do I teach them to teach concepts, not pieces? How to design a curriculum around these concepts? Coats' book was a great help to me! I have used it for my pedagogy interns as well as a personal resource.Coats covers lesson planning, discovery teaching, conceptual teaching and learning, learning styles, and ends the book with a fine introduction to group teaching. I heartily recommend this text for both new and experienced piano teachers.

Our daughter-in-law teaches piano and requested this book. She uses it as a reference book to help her the situations her students are in so they can become better piano players. She said this book is great.
