My original lenovo battery in my T60p died after 4+ years. a new one is $179 + tax and shipping, yikes. I don't plan to keep the laptop for that long, just need something to last another year or so.

The web is filthy with replacement batteries but who can you trust? so I turn to amazon to have the option to return if it's a dud with no headaches. not the cheapest out there but zero risk. I order this one which is not a lenovo, but still sold by amazon.

it arrives quickly, sealed in new box. looks just like my dead lenovo one. manufacturing date is 15 month ago which isn't that great but since it is here I will give it a try. Instructions say to fully charge, then fully discharge before use and I follow - charge to 100%, then unplug, and let it discharge. the battery lasts almost 5 hours with screen on max brightness but no activity. so far so good. The power manager pops a message that this is not an original battery as expected but it is not too annoying.

I will update the review if anything changes.
