4.0 out of 5 stars A fun game using logic skills November 1, 2010
Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is not as bad as everyone has been saying. It doesn't have the action and fast pacing most people enjoy, but this is a game where you actually have to think. There are a collection of mini games where you use different levels of thinking, as well as different kinds of thinking. You use math, memory, logic, perception, and other types. My personal favorite games are the perception game where the screen is complete black and you have to use the Wii-mote to figure out what the shape on the screen is. The vibrations will help guide you. Another good game is one where you have to figure out what drawing matches the colored cube. THere is also a game in which you have to move around matchsticks to solve a puzzle. These games require a bit of skill with logic. I have not played this game with another person, but I stand to believe that it would be much better in two player mode. The competition would seem to be more exciting.

1.0 out of 5 stars Bad Advertisement is the Culprit December 22, 2010
Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
I know there are some out there who enjoy this game, but I had to chime in on them and spoil the fun a little (for the sake of those who might spend $20 on this game). First of all, the game is targeting teenagers with it's graphics. The cover shows two young children with mom and dad playing the game and having a fun time. Nobody looks like that when they play this game, LOL. The interface is very poor. While this could be a game that builds critical thinking - it wouldn't be for young children AT ALL. Maybe my husband and I could play this without the kids... maybe a teenager would enjoy this, but the cover implies something totally different. Last, but not least, my daughters (ages 9 and 10) were disgusted with the suggestive body language of the female characters and their looks. Really, it looks like something made by MTV - graphic wise.

1.0 out of 5 stars Terrible July 1, 2010

Fun: 1.0 out of 5 stars
Don't waste your money. This game is terrible. My children hated it - the action is extremely slow moving. You use one Wii remote and pass it back and forth for each person's turn. It is so boring that it's hard to follow when it's another person's turn, since there is so little action. We all kind of tuned out, got bored, and then turned it off. You start in a testing center, choose characters that can only be adults (a big negative as far as my kids were concerned), and then you have only a couple of choices in terms of what kinds of "challenges" you will undertake. There is not much variety in the games you play. No thanks. I've had it three days, and it's already in a pile of stuff I'm going to donate to charity.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not User Friendly July 13, 2010

Fun: 2.0 out of 5 stars
I have been anxiously awaiting the Think Smart Family game and had it on pre-order forever. Unfortunately, it did not live up to its hype. You can only choose adult models, they move very suggestively if you choose a female, it's not intuitive at all, it takes forever to start. When you finally manage to get in to the game, there is a training academy that has some fun games, but they are kind of hard to figure out what is where. It's definitely a 1 player game in the training part. They do have some two person challenges, but unless you have done the training part, it's hard to figure out what to do on some of them. My controller seemed to not be responding well either, but that may be the controller. My son played a while, but not for long and I couldn't even talk my daughter into trying it after she got so disgusted with the avatars. Get Boom Blox - it's much more fun.

3.0 out of 5 stars Thinksmart July 18, 2010

Fun: 4.0 out of 5 stars
This game is a lot of fun and very challenging except that sometimes the remote does not activate the screens as they should. We made sure the remotes were fully charged but they continue to hesitate when a subject is selected and is very annoying when you are in a close game with your spouse.

3.0 out of 5 stars THe game is OK January 14, 2011

Fun: 3.0 out of 5 stars
The game is a little hard to navigate and moves a little slowly, but it is challenging. The sexist behavior of the avatars is a little distracting. The game does what it is suppose to do, which is provide intellectually challenging puzzles.

I bought this game hoping to play "fun brain games" and while there are a lot of brain games, it isn't presented in a "fun" manner and takes a lot of time to switch between categories of games.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not as easy as you think August 6, 2013

This game isn't for someone looking for fun. It is an educational game. It gets you to solve various problems & some are even over my head. Too hard. Not for the younger grandkids. Some of the games they never heard of or played.

Games and graphics are okay. Activities can be challenging. Navigating between games/sessions/activities is slow. Not recommended for the impatient gamer

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very family oriented!
Very surprised by how "adult" the characters are in this "family" game. I guess for $3 it isn't the end of the world, but my kids don't need to see nipples... Read more
