5.0 out of 5 stars E.T is BACK and BETTER!!!
My Daughters ages 5yrs and 2yrs, just got this doll today, and havn't put it down!!! They are fimiliar with the "old" version of the movie, as it is one of my fave's.. This doll is soft, its neck goes up and down, and its arms are "movable". A cuddly friend, that looks just like "the real thing"... So glad to have him back!!!

3.0 out of 5 stars E.T.
My daughter (3) was really afraid of this toy once she heard
it's voice. She loves the movie, but the voice of the toy
is a little scary.

My three year old son's first movie I took him to was the E.T. re-release and he absolutely fell in love with it. I wanted to get him something to remember it by and when I handed him his plush E.T. he got the biggest smile on his face! He sleeps with it every night and loves to show me how his head moves up and down and how his finger "glows"!

My 5 year old sleeps with ET every night and has taken him to show and tell at school a dozen times. Unfortunately we lost him at a hotel, so hopefully we'll be able to buy another. My son misses ET dearly, and it breaks my heart when he asks me if I think ET is ok. ET is a wonderful companion!

4.0 out of 5 stars E.T. Is So Cool!, July 15, 2003

His face looks a bit angry, but he isn't exactly the cutest creature when you first see him in the movie, eiter.
His neck allows his head to be squished down into his body and extended up. Not a bunch, but it's still cool. His arms are also semi-poseable.
His glowing finger does look dumb, though. It looks like he left his finger out in the sun too long or something. ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars This needs no batteries...!, March 4, 2003

I ordered both of these ETs.. the 12"=no talking and the 13"=talking.

The 12" is nice because it needs no batteries, but is a little smaller and doesn't sit up as well.. and his magical finger is sorta yellow colored which looks kinda funny and yukkie.. but I think he is perfect for sleeping with and not accidentally making him talk and wake you up... Some of us are getting tired of all these batteries.. I use rechargeables which helps a lot.. but I don't like it if one of my talking friends begins to talk when I don't expect it and wakes me up...

I think the 12" is perfect for little kids to sleep with.. and you can buy a little baby blanket to wrap it in to sleep with.. ET often had a blanket on in the movie... :o) He likes to be cozy... :o)

4.0 out of 5 stars Very Cute, October 4, 2002
= Durability:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Fun:4.0 out of 5 stars  = Educational:1.0 out of 5 stars
This review is from: E.T. 20th Anniversary Plush (Toy)
I'm fairly familiar with the original E.T. plush doll that was released in 1980, and I thought nothing could compare to the realistic features and impossibly cute expression.

Boy, was I wrong. This plush doll released for E.T. Special Edition far exceeded my expectations. The facial features are exact and the eyes look real. E.T. sits on my desk, and I half expect him to say "E.T. phone home." He's also a very nice size; fitting just about anywhere while not being too small.

However, I have one complaint with this toy. ET's right hand sports a finger that is supposed to look like it's "glowing." The yellow and white coloring on the finger only makes it look dirty...like it was dipped in a gritty yellow powder. It's actually rather gross. I know this is constant with all the E.T. dolls; I purchased E.T at a Toys R Us and fruitlessly searched for a doll without a "dirty" finger. No such thing exists.

Beside the ugly finger, this E.T doll is surprisingly realistic compared to the original version released in 1980. In fact, ET is so realistic that his neck expands and retracts. :)

5.0 out of 5 stars 12" ET Plush Doll, May 9, 2002

This is a beautiful plush representation of ET. It is soft, wrinkly and well-made. I was a teen when the original movie came out and, being a collector, I had all sorts of ET dolls and figures. I can say without a doubt, that this one is nicer than any that I had 20 years ago - and at a bargain price. If you are buying one for your child, buy an extra for yourself and keep it clean and out of the sunlight. In another 20 years, you'll be glad you did!

5.0 out of 5 stars The new generation of E.T. plushes..., December 18, 2001

Out of my vast collection of original-issue E.T. toys (including all the LJN figurines and wind-ups), I cannot recall any of my plushes talking. There were, of course, the plastic pullstring E.T. and the E.T. Talking Telephone... This was my first new piece of merchandise to coincide with the 20th anniversary, and I love it. It looks great on my shelf, and sounds even better. It is truly heartwarming when his heart and finger light up simultaneously when he says, "Friend..."

We moved out of state and my son's E.T. has been misplaced by other people packing our things I did not get to before I needed to hurry and do last minute errands. My son experienced a very traumatic event in his life that he was unable to speak about for months. He first began to speak about it as I used E.T. as a puppet. My son had never even seen the movie, but he trusted E.T. and my son told me what happened by speaking to E.T. E.T is a gentle creature with glorious eyes that matched the wisdom and understanding that my son needed. I have been unable to locate E.T. among our belongings and my son will know how much Santa understands the loss of E.T. has been to him. My son just recently realized the other dimensions to E.T.'s personality as he just acquired the video. I feel in watching the video, my son feels even more, the loss of this little creature that he confided in and as he knew also he was able to tell me what happened and talk about his feelings.Mrs Symmington
