5.0 out of 5 stars Scale Keeps Perfect Weight Forever
I bought a Thinner electronic bathroom scale at least 20 years ago. It is used constantly. It has travelled from Mich to Florida. I stepped onto it holding a heavy mirror (in order to weigh the mirror). The surface cracked a little under the stress (this was in 2009), and the scale works perfectly.

I can't figure out how to change the batteries, but I've...

1.0 out of 5 stars no replaceable batteries = disposable scale
Like other Thinner products, this scale doesn't have replaceable batteries: after a few years (4 in my experience with another Thinner scale) when the battery runs out, you have to throw away the whole scale.

Weigh yourself five times, get five different results. That's not what I am looking for in a scale.

Splurge on yourself and get something from Seca instead.

2.0 out of 5 stars Not the worst, but surely there's something better out there., August 4, 2007
This review is from: Thinner Scale by Conair TH301 Round Glass Scale, Silver (Health and Beauty)
I really don't like this scale. It is serviceable for a rough estimate of weight, basically "am I up or down from last week?", but as for an accurate number, forget about it. I never get the same reading twice in a row, even if all I do is step off gently and step back on in the exact same spot. Speaking of spots, your feet position seems to have EVERYTHING to do with the weight displayed. I can really feel good about my diet's progress if I stand a certain way on the scale. Put your feet too high, too low, too far apart, or not directly centered and the weight will vary greatly. Also, it is PICKY as to being on a flat surface. My bathroom linoleum seems to make the variance even worse, so I took it to the hardwood floor in the kitchen to give it a try. That seemed to help very slightly. Overall I highly recommend steering clear of this scale. I'm still shopping for its replacement, but surely to goodness there's something beeter out there!

1.0 out of 5 stars Fluctuates all over, hard to replace battery, November 9, 2011
This review is from: Thinner Scale by Conair TH301 Round Glass Scale, Silver (Health and Beauty)
I usually I have to weigh myself 5-10 times and figure out where the number falls. It could be way off in the beginning. It may be caused by a weak battery. but I can't figure out where to change it. Don't buy.

Just another product designed by engineers who will never have to use it. Spend your money elsewhere.

1.0 out of 5 stars Lose Weight, Not Your Money, March 30, 2009
By
This review is from: Thinner Scale by Conair TH301 Round Glass Scale, Silver (Health and Beauty)
This scale is not accurate at all. I am 100% sure that people in the 18th century had better scales. I weigh myself and then go to the bathroom and get rid of what's inside me and then, guess what?! I 'gain' 2 pounds!!! sometimes I 'gain' even 3 pounds after I urinate!!! If I get on this scale 5 times within one minute, every time I get on, it shows different numbers. Or if I eat, it shows the same weight before I had a meal..I must say, this is the worst scale that ever existed. If you buy this, you will not gain anything, which is great if it was your weight, but will end up losing something important, 'your money'.

1.0 out of 5 stars Slick design, lousy scale, August 13, 2008

This review is from: Thinner Scale by Conair TH301 Round Glass Scale, Silver (Health and Beauty)
Looks great, makes a good gift, if you don't care much about the scale part of this item. The scale is very incosistent and inaccurate. Scale reading depends on feet/body positioning on the scale surface, as well as device positioning on the floor. If you were to weigh yourself 5 times in a row using this item, you'd get 3-4 different results. Stay away.

2.0 out of 5 stars Enjoy it while it lasts, March 11, 2008

This scale is great looking and fairly accurate, but, as other reviewers have noted, the manufacturer has no intention of letting you replace the battery which has a typical lifespan of a 3 to 5 years depending on usage. First indications that the batteries are wearing out will be small, surprising variations in weights taken seconds appart; eventually the fluctuations make the scale unusable. Be forewarned.

This review is from: Thinner Scale by Conair TH301 Round Glass Scale, Silver (Health and Beauty)
I bought this scale after countless visits to the doctor and always getting a different reading on my home scale. This scale is just as accurate as my doctors scale(down to the ounce)and very simple to use. I highly recomend this scale.
