Product Description

The Third Advent takes as one of its theme the prophecies of a 12th century Italian mystic, Giacomo Di Fiore, who saw that the three ages in the history of religion, would be the Age of the Father, said by the author to correspond to the time from Lord Krishna through to the birth of Lord Jesus Christ, the Age of the Son, from the advent of Jesus to the present time, and The Age of the Mother, the age of the feminine re-asserting itself in spirituality, the fulfillment of the prophecy of Lord Jesus Christ that after him would come The Comforter, which the author asserts is the Holy Ghost, or the Divine feminine.

The Third Advent is, in part, a history of the last 6000 years in which the author discusses why the great religions, philosophies and economic systems have, in turn, failed to create an environment in which we can all live in peace, prosperity and harmony. He goes on to propose that it is only through individual transformation, that mankind can enact the changes necessary to save itself and the world we live in. In this context, The Third Advent presents a message of great hope: that we can change our core being and thence ourselves through the unique discovery of en masse Self-realization through Sahaja Yoga. The Third Advent explores the possibilities for transformation at individual and corporate levels.

5.0 out of 5 stars change your life - read it now, August 4, 2004
Looking round the world right now it seems that many potential sources of crisis are converging - ecological, spiritual, political, financial, medical, demographical etc etc. How can we avoid making an appointment with all this trouble up ahead?

In this book Gregoire de Kalbermatten offers a holistic solution which is within the grasp of every human being on the planet, is amazingly free of charge and based on this readers experience actually works.

Based around the prophecies of Joachim de Fiore this book draws upon thousands of years of knowledge and a variety of spiritual traditions - however this is no mystical 'pick n mix' but the logical next step on from the knowledge imparted in the past by such works as the Bhagavad Gita, Tao te Ching, the Analects of Confucius and the purest teachings of Christ and Buddha.

It suggests that rather than an appointment with disaster the human race can instead reach its fullest potential on both an individual and collective level - in the process eliminating the diseases (both mental and physical) which hold us in thrall as individuals and also the inequalities and injustices which ravage the world collectively.

If you feel dissatisfied or disillusioned by the brave new world which we have created this book is definitely for you. Things don't have to be this way - change your life - read it now!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Way Ahead for Mankind, July 28, 2004
By Dr I.M Maitland-Hume (Berwickshire, Scotland) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
Gregoire de Kalbermatten presents us with a stunning solution to the problems confronting us all today, whether at a personal or collective level. In The Third Advent, we are invited to test a hypothesis that can not only transform us individually, but which will also secure the very existence of society in a sustainable manner for the future. He leads us on an exciting journey, inviting us to consider some of the great incarnations, saints and masters of past ages, qualifying the offerings of the foremost philosophers of recent times and then introducing us to the practical means of enhancing our evolutionary path. For anyone with an enquiring mind or with a concern as to where our ever-more globalized society might be leading, this book is a must, especially as it has been written from convincing personal experience.

5.0 out of 5 stars a brilliant introduction to Self-realization, July 27, 2004
The author posits that the world can only change for the better when enough people change themselves. OK, nothing new here, lots of people have said the same or similar, i.e. if you want to change the world change yourself. But where this book is different, is that the author says that through the teachings of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, en masse Self-realization is now possible. He puts this assertion in the context of history and takes us on a journey through the last 6000 years or so. He quotes the prophecies of Joachim di Fiore, who saw that there would be three great ages of religon, beginning with the age of Father, roughly corresponding to the time of Krishna to the time of Christ, then the age of the Son, the so-called Christian era, and starting at this time, the third age, the advent of the feminine in religion and the Divine Mother, the Comforter as promised by Christ.

The book is an intellectual tour de force, but written with great humor and mostly with a lightness of touch that is refreshing and unfortunately too rare.

His predictions for the next 100 years or so, if things go on as they are, are chilling
and enough to bring the most sceptical reader to see that huge change is needed. For the sakes of our children's children, let's hope he is right in saying that things can and will get better and that the times we are living through now, will the darkest hour before the dawn.
