This review is from: The Third Doctor Who with Dalek Action Figure (Toy)
In 1969, Patrick Troughton left the 'Doctor Who' series in the ten-part serial "The War Games." In 1970, 'Doctor Who' began anew, in color, and most importantly with a new lead: Jon Pertwee. Pertwee's Doctor was a slight departure from his predesessor just as Troughton's Doctor was a departure from William Hartnell's. Pertwee was tall and dressed in colorful swashbuckling attire. He also was more physical than his predesessors, using alien marital arts in some cases to get out of tight spots as well as some fencing. The figure here is a fair representation of the Third Doctor. I can't imagine how difficult carving Pertwee's face was (it's bird-like in some respects). He moves better than the other two figures (at least in the lower areas), thanks to a less-hindering coat. This figure (as well as the Dalek) come from the 1974 serial "Death to the Daleks", a serial I have yet to see since it has yet to be released on R1 DVD. This Doctor comes with his ever-trusted Sonic Screwdriver (honestly, is there anything it can't do?). As for the Dalek, well, it's shorter than the Saucer Commander Dalek from the First Doctor/Dalek two-pack. It's silver, like the original Daleks. The only differences between the two are the wisk-guns (the Dalek in this set's is longer), the eye-stalk on this one is shorter, and there a black dot in the center of its eye (which I imagine is the Dalek equivalent of a pupil). Other than those things, there is little else to say. And Dalek figures are always fun to have (the more, the merrier I say). I hope, as I hoped with the other sets, that there will be a "Third Doctor Companions" Set, such as a two pack of Liz Shaw and Jo Grant, or maybe a three pack with the previous two and Sarah Jane Smith. After all, who is the Doctor without his companions? All and all, this set is a worthy addition to my growing Doctor Who figure collection.

Not only does this figure capture a great likeness of the third Doctor, but I prefer this version of the Dalek to the others that are currently out there. I had thought about buying one of the other variations of the third Doctor, but when I saw this up close I knew to stop while I was ahead. Recommended.
