Absu's Third Storm, July 31, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Third Storm of Cythrol (Audio CD)
I didn't expect much when I ordered this because the sound samples make it sound like a typical so-so black/thrash metal album. But I read reviews so I bought it anyway. Damn, sound samples don't do this album justice, this is AWESOME!!! The most notable thing about this album are the melodic choirs on songs such as "Highland Tyrant Attack", "Customs of Tasseomancy", and "Of Celtic Fire we are Born". The last mentioned track seems a bit out of place on this album because instead of thrash/black, this is a very melodic black metal song that, despite its difference with the rest of the album, is the best song on there. This album is REQUIRED for any lover of black and thrash metal alike. There is no comparison for it. It is very original and stands alone with its sword raised in a black thrashing storm.
