About the Author

William J. Kunz was raised in Rockland County, New York state, during the 1930's "Great Depression". He was an active musician in the New York City area during the pre-war "Big Band" era. After the war, he attended college on the "G.I. Bill" and married his fiancee, Helen. They have two children; Nancy and Susan, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Retired, after an engineering career in Medical and Industrial Instrumentation, he lives in Illinois.

Spellbinding! A rare glimpse into the day to day life of a World War II soldier. Easy to read and informative. A real page-turner.Author Kunz also examines life stateside during this time. The battle scenes bring you there;graphic details of war's violence are muted. The pictures are placed throughout the book for easy reference.A must for the high school or college classroom.

War alters the courses of entire lives. "Third and Ten" is a memoir packed with photos as William J. Kunz reflects on his military career throughout World War II where he participated in many campaigns throughout the European theater. I travel the world and I have never read a book that has inspired me like this. You feel like you are at the front on WWII. I usually never write reviews but this book is simply incredible!
