5.0 out of 5 stars A beautuiful romance, November 17, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Third Wise Man: The Delancey Brothers (Harlequin Superromance No. 880) (Paperback)
After a year of managing the Oregon winery they inherited from their deceased uncle, the Delancey brothers are pleased with their success. Though the winery itself has a bit to go before making a profit, the bed and breakfast and the restaurant are already winners. Mike and Tate have found love and happiness with their new wives, leaving the youngest, gourmet chef Shea, the lone bachelor of the three siblings.

Everything changes for Shea when he watches a TV reporter question Samantha Haskell about her family's business failure. Sam handles the setback with class, but a shaken Shea learns that his former lover Sam recently gave birth to an infant that he must have sired. He leaves for San Francisco to confront Sam. When he sees her, Shea knows he still loves her and made a bad error last year when he rejected her plea to allow her to help him with his financial crisis. Desperate to have Sam and child in his life, Shea blackmails her into spending the holidays in Oregon where he prays that the loving environment will persuade Sam that they belong together.

THE THIRD WISE MAN, the final Delancey brother tale, is an enjoyable contemporary romance that retains the magic of the first two tales but travels down a different path. The story line is entertaining as Shea learns how much his decision hurt. The return of lead characters from the previous two novels (see FIRST BORN SON and SECOND TO NONE) provides the readers with a warm family feeling for the holidays. Muriel Jensen makes Christmas a joyful time with a fun to read book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Romance in Picture-Perfect Setting, September 6, 2002
This review is from: The Third Wise Man: The Delancey Brothers (Harlequin Superromance No. 880) (Paperback)
Muriel Jensen's conclusion to her Delancey Brothers trilogy recaptures the warmth of the first two books, yet is different in a delightful way.

Shea Delancey discovers his former girlfriend's problems (and one of his own!) when he sees her on TV. Determined to help Samantha Haskell, and regain what he lost, Shea goes in pursuit and convinces Sam to spend the holidays at the winery where she meets his extended family. Convincing Sam to take another chance with him, and learning to trust her are just two of the things this youngest Delancey must learn to earn his happy ever after ending.

This book has everything: romance, babies, a fantastic setting, well-drawn characters right down to the llama, a mystery solved, and reunions galore (not to mention some mouthwatering recipes). Don't miss this heartwarming conclusion to a fascinating series.

Ms. Jensen. I want to read more, and I want to visit that winery! Brava for a superb trilogy!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great wrap-up to the series - wish there could be more!, August 23, 2004

This review is from: The Third Wise Man: The Delancey Brothers (Harlequin Superromance No. 880) (Paperback)
Shea Delancey, out-of-work chef, has lost his restaurant but finds new life with the winery he inherits with his brothers. Tate and Mike have found love and settled down, but Shea's secretly nursing a broken heart. When he finds his old flame kept a secret from him - their baby! - he determines to get her back. Muriel Jenson closes out her series with a bang - reuniting relatives, a gangster bent on revenge, a beautiful Christmas celebration - read the whole series. Highly recommend it.

This is the perfect ending to a great series that I just stumbled across. I really enjoyed getting to know all the brothers and learning so much about their family. This series is for all those who love to see their characters grow and develop and watch them change over time during the romance, cheering for their successes and worrying about their problems. You would definitely want to have read books 1 and 2 before reading this one. Book 1 is First Borm Son and Book 2 is Second to None. I read the first two and then could not find book 3 at my local library (or anywher in our local 2 county library system), so i had to buy it myself. I think I will have to buy book 2 just to have the whole set.

The other neat thing about this series is that it is from the guy's point of view. It was kind of nice to see the guys struggle to figure out what the women want.

I really enjoyed this series and think that many others who like their romances to have some meaning to them and not just a romance with no depth to it.
