I met Randy Stonehill once, even though I don't remember it -- it's blurred, like my meeting of Russ Lee and Joy Williams (who my Uncle Dan was manager of for a short time) and Bob Carlisle, who I remember having a hilarious sense of humor. His songs remind me of when I was really little, and now it's like a comforting sound from my toddler years, to hear lyrics and music that I've come to remember as a symbol of a good time.
Hand of God -- Wonderful. Hands down wonderful. Fire -- Mysterious, slow in a good way, and haunting. Also hands down wonderful. Sleeping -- Slow but pretty good anyway. Father of Lights -- Energetic and loud but missing something...still, a good song. Angel's Wings -- A heartbreaking-in-a-good-way song that gives a good idea of Heaven. Baby Hates Clowns -- Just hilarious. Every Heartbeat is a Prayer -- One of the best songs on the album. Right from the heart. Lonely House -- Quiet, slow, and sad. About an unhappy marriage. Little Rose -- A touching and heartbreaking song with great lyrics and music. About a girl in Haiti who has joy and hope and unconditional love even through the misery and hopelessness of her poverty-stricken life. Everything You Know (Is Incorrect) -- a decent song with pretty good lyrics. Keeper of the Bear -- Absolutely hilarious and brilliantly conceived. It's obvious the guy's a total kid at heart. Rating: Very Good

I don't normally listen to "Christian" music but I love Randy! He is a great songwriter, singer and artist. I first got into some of his earlier stuff like Turning 30, Rachel D., and Christmas at Denny's and then I wanted more. It's just a shame that you have to pay so much for each album. Enjoy.

I met Randy Stonehill a couple of years ago and I have been trying to get famliar with his older material ever since.
This album opens very strongly with "Hand of God." I had heard an acoustic version of this song, but I really liked the full band version on this cd. This cd is very upbeat and very methodical at points. (But tends to stay upbeat throughout the project) There is also some comic reflief. (If you ever met Randy this makes perfect sense.)"Baby Hates Clowns" is a randomly inserted story of how his little girl was terrified of clowns as a child. There is also a bonus track at the end called "Keeper of the Bear." (If you liked his "Uncle Stonehill's Hat" album you will like this bonus track.) So, overall, if you like any of Randy Stonehill's more recent projects you will probably enjoy this one. It includes Randy's classics "Hand of God", "Angel's Wings" and "Father of Lights."

Randy's lyrics direct from God's word.,

Shining down from the Father of lights is one song everyone must hear. Not just for the words which honor the LORD but for the music. Also the first track song regarding seeing God's hand is excellent. Don't let another day go by without listening to this song or buying this CD.
