5.0 out of 5 stars I Thirst For More, May 21, 2004

(REAL NAME)
"I Thirst For You" was absolutely terrific. I had read "I Burn For You" very recently and it was fresh in my mind so I was already familiar with the different groups of vampires in this book. Where the first book dealt with a "Clan" vampire, this one dealt with a "Family" vampire. Marcus Cage was every inch a hero, even when he didn't think so himself. He escaped torture at the hands of mad scientists and ran straight into the arms of his soul mate (or Bond Mate). Josephine Elliot was fragile after her recent plane crash and was trying to find some peace of mind in the middle of the desert when this large, overwhelming man came out of the night and took her captive, body and soul. This story was a non-stop, exciting ride. It took me just a few hours to read the book because I became so engrossed in Marc and Jo's story. The love scenes were wonderful and intense. I would recommend this book to anyone with an interest in vampire stories or romance. You don't even have to be a vampire fiction fan to enjoy this story. The romance alone is worth the read. My only complaint is that the book was not long enough (are they ever) and now I have to wait so long to read the next one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but not one of her best, June 3, 2004
After I read I BURN FOR YOU, I was really looking forward to this new book. It was a good read, but the plot was a little too predictable to me.

It took half the book to get her to beleive he was a real vampire. Although he had already bit her neck and drank her blood. They had already shared nightmares and she had come to care for him. She still betrayed him to Gavin.

According to the book he is a prime. It seems all they do is think about, and have (...). I'm not complaining, I just knew from the first chapter that they would somehow wind up in the hands of his captors.

Why couldn't he get blood from someone else, if he was so determined not to suck on her neck, And he needed it so bad.

I finished the book and I will buy her next one. But I hope the capturing is out of her system. It seems that in every one of the last few vampire books I have read, someone wants Immortality. They think they only have to capture a vampire to get it.

She could have left out about 100 pages and still got the same book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Buy this one for sure, but ignore the cover art!, June 26, 2004

I LOVED the first book, and read the sneak preview in the back of it for this one. The publisher should be spanked; they not only changed the title between publication of the sneak chapters and actual distribution of the book (Makes it hard to pre-order a book when you have a bogus title!) but once they put it out, they used cover art with NO relationship to the actual main charactors (He has curly short dark hair and a largish nose, she has short blonde hair; cover shows him with longish straight hair and her with long dark hair. Duh)
The first book concentrated on one faction of Vampire society, the Clans; this book features a representative of the Families. Each group sees the other through an ethnocentric point of view, which is refreshingly humanlike - - - I can't wait to see what she does with a member of the Tribes as a main charactor, or better yet, what the first-person view of a female vampire would be, considering their somewhat restricted biology. What I didn't like was the introduction of a paramilitary "DPI" like evil organization intent on developing immortality by experimenting on Vampires in a labratory. Hmm... read this elsewhere. She loves alpha males, fast pace, intricate personal relationships, and invests her writing with good background detail.
This was overall an engaging read, and you should read both this and "I BURN FOR YOU", if you haven't already.
