3.0 out of 5 stars we can only use along with water
This gave our son diaper rash when used without water, so now we use a squirt of this and a squirt of water and it works fine for the super-big messes. For most messes water alone works just as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars We love this butt spray., March 6, 2011

I decided after a month of cloth diapering my newborn to switch to cloth wipes. I was reluctant since I have a 3 year old with whom I used all disposables (for everything) and disposables have been so good for hands and faces and other little messes as well as butts. But using a disposable wipe with a cloth diaper is counterintuitive and impractical. You want to fold the wipe in the diaper and put everything in the same place. You have to keep disposables separate! And that made me want to switch quickly and badly. The thing that kept me from trying cloth wipes was wondering how on earth a dry piece of cloth could possibly clean the poopy messes I'd dealt with for years before the new baby was born. Then I found this spray! I ordered the 4 oz at first just to be cautious. Someone here complained about the smell and other sprays had higher ratings so I didn't want to be stuck with a huge bottle of spray I didn't like or didn't work.

First, it's beautiful. Tiny pieces of lustre float around like microscopic glitter. It shimmers in the bottle. It's gorgeous to shake and move around just to watch the solution. (Don't worry, it leaves NOTHING on baby! Not even a scent!) The smell is very mild and generic with a citrus top note (probably grapefruit but not strong at all). It's a light scent and it doesn't linger on baby's skin at all. I like it and wouldn't mind if it was stronger! Keeps baby from smelling poopy or ammonia soaked and does a good job at unsticking that super sticky breastfed poop. I haven't tried it on a solids-eating poop yet, for lack of opportunity, but if it can handle BF poo, it'll handle formula babies' poop and solids-eaters. My baby didn't have any diaper rash going into using this and he hasn't had any since. (He had it soooo badly at first when I was using disposable wipes every time.) For a regular sized poopy diaper, it takes 2-3 sprays. For a big poopy diaper, it takes 3-4. For a light poop, I use 1-2, just to keep his butt pH just right since that's a perk of this spray. My husband loves it. When I take it out of the bag and show it off, people think it's interesting and lovely to look at. I just bought the 8 oz!

I recommend buying a 4 oz and 8 oz at once so you can have one for the house and a travel sized one. Then you can buy only 8 oz from then on and just pour some over into the 4 oz bottle!

I find this product useful especially since I use cloth wipes. We spray his butt then wipe and he smells great. My son also enjoys getting his but sprayed, its pretty funny. The previous reviewer complained about the smell but I didn't find the spray to have a strong scent. I found the scent light and pleasant.

4.0 out of 5 stars Herbal clean smell, August 30, 2010
By
I got this as a test of my new cloth wipes, and my son enjoys getting sprayed. It does not smell like your typical chemically added to cleaning product, but it does smell herbally and clean. I will also try the other kind I have seen, but I would be willing to buy this again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Smells Great, Works even Better!, January 25, 2012

I absolutely love this diaper spray. It has a subtle smell (not like Kissaluvs, which smells SO strongly of lavender, I could die). What I love most about this product is that it leaves my baby's bottom soft and dry. Other diaper sprays leave his skin so wet for so long, I have to let him air dry for over 10 minutes just to make sure he's dry, but Thirsties Booty Luster spray leaves his bottom so clean and dry right away. It's nice to be able to use that extra 10 minutes of diaper-changing time to just play and enjoy my baby, not worrying about the sticky wetness left on his skin. This is, by far, my favorite spray. It smells SO good (though, for some reason, each time I spray it a lot both my son and I cough a couple of times, but this has become a kind of game for us), and the scent doesn't linger after we're done using it, which is nice. I would highly recommend this spray to anyone.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this Product, October 25, 2011

Am a new mom and decided to use cloth diapers and wipes. I spray this on the wipe or directly on my baby's skin and the poop comes right off. Highly recommend---but I like California Baby equally well. Either will do the trick.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good wipe spray but don't care for the scent, June 22, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This wipe spray does a great job leaving my little one fresh and clean. However, I don't really care for the scent and will probably try something different when this one runs out. It smells kind of like our organic bug spray (on a lesser degree).

3.0 out of 5 stars pretty good, like California baby better, May 17, 2011

I like this product, works well and is very natural. However I do like the scent of California baby better than this one. This one has almost no scent. But if you want a product that has little scent, this is great.

1.0 out of 5 stars Hate it, April 19, 2011
By
This review is from: Thirsties Booty Luster, 8 Ounce (Baby Product)
I love the other Thirsties products I've tried, so I was surprised to find that I loathe this product. I think it smells terrible, but I would be willing to deal with it if it worked. Every time I used it on my daughters, their bums got red, they cried, and if I used it enough they developed a rash. My elder daughter was prone to rashes while in diapers, so at first I chalked it up to one of her odd sensitivities. But my younger daughter had the same issue, and she almost never gets rashes.

So, maybe it works fine for some babies, but it was awful for mine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love Booty Luster on my Grandbabies, April 1, 2011
This review is from: Thirsties Booty Luster, 8 Ounce (Baby Product)
Booty Luster is great for cleaning my grandbabies. Using water without soap does not clean the baby bottoms and the
ingredients in the BL help my grandbabies from getting diaper rash. It cleans with 4 squirts on the cloth wipes. I don't mind the smell because it doesn't linger on the babies and it obviously doesn't have fragrance in it. I found that good smelling stuff usually has fragrance in it and this is pretty neutral which I like. The best part is that there is no alcohol in it. Babywipes all have alcohol in them which dries the baby skin. Booty Luster alleviated diaper rash within two days. This stuff is amazing! If you haven't tried it, I would recommend it. Sure beats the old stuff that we had when I had my babies.
