Product Description

Color: Mud | Size: X-Small

Thirsties offers a very popular diaper cover to families looking for a super cute yet effective waterproof cover.  Thirsties Diaper Covers are completely waterproof yet remain breathable, pliable, and very comfortable for your baby's delicate skin. The leg gussets add advanced leak-proof protection and bindings are super soft against your baby’s skin. Thirsties Diaper Covers secure with durable hook and loop for a perfect and secure fit at every diaper change. The generous cut of the covers presents a superior waterproof exterior on any type of flat, prefolded, or fitted cloth diaper. The cover’s roomy fit is ideal for chunky babies, over bulkier diapers, and nighttime systems. The x-small size features an umbilical cut out for your newborn's comfort. Want to get away with fewer diaper covers in rotation? The laminate that lines the inside of the soft polyester can be wiped clean between uses, then wash when thoroughly soiled. We suggest one cover for every 3-4 diapers in rotation (excluding diapers with waterproof exteriors). The mission of Thirsties, Inc. is to make it easy and affordable for every family to choose cloth while simultaneously investing in our local economy and sustainable business practices. We are very proud of the fact that all Thirsties products are manufactured in Colorado, USA, by a group of very talented individuals, many of whom are moms who work in the comfort and convenience of their own homes. We delight in the opportunity to sell products that contribute to a happy and healthy start for your children while helping to minimize your baby’s first carbon footprints. Proudly manufactured in the USA

I love Thirsties covers.

New Thirsties Diaper Cover with Hook and Loop (H&L) has wider loop strip and shorter, but easier to grab hook tabs that work equally good as snaps.
Eugene Tenenbaum
I love the pattern of this diaper cover and it works really well with a simple prefold or a fitted diaper.

I really liked the old Thirsties diaper covers and have been using them for 2 years. When these new ones were issued, I was worried that the quality would be compromised. In all honesty, I don't notice any difference between these and the old ones. I took away one star because they did leave a mark on my 2 year old's leg that took at least a week to go away. It was a small bruise caused by a piece of the closure rubbing against his leg as he walked, but I don't know if it was bunching up because of the prefolds I use (osocozy) or because of my son's current size. I'm going to try putting a bandaid on his leg in that spot to protect him. Overall, it's a good, durable product.

But the reviews are true, the velcro wears out. Fast. It also doesn't hold as well as the snap/button closures, and it ismuch bulkier than the snap closure-types.
It is perfectly waterproof, so no harm there.. but as far as cloth diapering goes it is very bulky as-is and I prefer to keep things trim as possible. I love thirsties brand, as well as a few others but as far as all covers go- I wish I had stuck to the snap closures instead of investing in the velcro styles.

IMO- aplix/velcro looks easier and cuter, but I don't like wasting money. I feel I wasted more money on aplix than snaps. But go thirsties!! Good brand. (:

New Thirsties Diaper Cover with Hook and Loop (H&L) has wider loop strip and shorter, but easier to grab hook tabs that work equally good as snaps. The H&L closure is easier to use than snaps and adjustable, but snaps do not add the stiff and thick layer that adheres to the child body and should not be uncomfortable or protruding externally. The only concern would be the sharpness of the edges of the tab stiff plastic foil that the skin could be scratch against. However, when such a tendency, the H&L cover can be replaced with one with snaps.

I love Thirsties covers. The double leg gusset makes so much difference in terms of preventing leaks especially if your baby hasn't quite gotten those chunky thighs yet. The x-small fit was what I needed to start cloth diapering my little one as the OS pocket diapers were just way too big. She is 3 months old and about 12 pounds and she still is fitting the XS cover. I imagine that in the next month or two we will move up to a small. These are easy to clean and seem to hold up pretty well in the wash.

We used bumkin and bummis diaper covers, but this one is much superior and we have been using these every day for the past 9 months with my little girl. We use cloth diapers (have since the beginning) and love this diaper cover. It really does not let any wetness through at all (unlike Bumkin, which I would find slightly damp a lot on the outside of the cover if my little girl peed too much). Also, when she was a newborn she would have lots of explosion poops, and the leg gussets (the extra scrunch around the leg holes) really kept the explosions in the diaper. Pretty easy to clean and you just throw into the wash and we typically line dry to keep their use longer. The small size lasted us until she was 8 months. We had about 12 diaper covers we alternated between with her cloth diapers and about two we threw away after 8 months because the velcro was no longer sticky. So we will be able to use the other ten with our future kid, but not sure for how long the velcro will hold out. The medium size we just bought and the new velcro works great (like the old diapers did at first). So it is a money saver for sure, but velcro will not last forever. Also can try to resew the velcro instead of throwing out the entire diaper which will be cheaper. We had one button diaper but it was just too much effort each time, especially in the middle of the night (and we are not the type of people to shy away from effort). We found the velcro was easiest even though it does only last for about 8 months or so. Great diaper covers though!

Let me preface my review by saying that I'm new to cloth diapering...this cover is definitely better than the plain plastic covers I had been using prior to the purchase; however, it seemed to leak more than expected, but, in all fairness, that is probably because my prefolded diapers weren't absorbent enough. I like the ease of the aplix/Velcro design, but it's starting to get fuzzy already (still works fine, though). And, my last issue is related to the gussets - they're a little too tight for my chunkster even though she is well within the weight range for this size cover. Overall, it's decent, but I probably won't buy another one like this.

The size x-small was getting to tight for my baby so I ordered the size small. It looks huge on her and in order to get a good fit I have to tighten the velcro. When she sits up for bends her legs in it digs into her belly.
The Thirstie Duo wrap in size one with the snaps is much better for her right now at about 12 lbs.
I do not like the velco versions, they are very stiff and limit how much the baby can move.

These diaper covers have gussets, double-sided velcro tabs, and are cute to boot! I used a different brand (cheaper) for when our baby was a newborn, but now that he moves around, you need the gussets to prevent leaks. The velcro tabs are perfect for closing up the diaper since they're very generously sized (compared to a few years ago when we used them with our first son), and since they are double-sided, you can close them up on themselves when you wash. We hang them to dry instead of sticking them in the dryer, don't know if they break down in high heat. I love the new fabric designs!!!
