Product Description

Color: Aqua | Size: Size One (6-18 lbs)

Finally, an all in one reusable diaper that truly challenges the convenience and trim-fit of a disposable diaper.  Thirsties Duo AIO offers absorbency, waterproof protection, and adjustability all rolled up into one stylish, comfortable and extremely effective cloth diaper. The unique design of Thirsties Duo AIO offers a trim-fitting, easy to use, customizable diaper that also cleans up like a dream. This incredible diaper includes Thirsties’ signature tunnel system which enables stuffing of additional absorbency when needed. A built-in three-layer microfiber terry soaker absorbs an amazing seven times its weight in liquid. The soaker is topped with our stay-dry microfleece which keeps your baby feeling dry. All in all, Thirsties Duo AIO gets a BIG thumbs-up from your wallet, your family, your daycare facility, and your occasional caretakers alike. Both hook & loop and snap closures are available on Thirsties Duo line. While many families prefer hook & loop closures because of the simple, secure fit they provide, snap closures do have a few advantages of their own. They are pretty much indestructible and are more unyielding than our hook & loop closures, making them more challenging to unfasten for a toddler who prefers to go naked. The mission of Thirsties, Inc. is to make it easy and affordable for every family to choose cloth while simultaneously investing in our local economy and sustainable business practices. We are very proud of the fact that all Thirsties products are manufactured in Colorado, USA, by a group of very talented individuals, many of whom are moms who work in the comfort and convenience of their own homes. We delight in the opportunity to sell products that contribute to a happy and healthy start for your children while helping to minimize your baby’s first carbon footprints. Proudly manufactured in the USA

Every time we've used them, it's leaked.

When comparing this diaper to other AIOs out there, we really like the softness, absorbency, quality and it's super cute!
I have several styles of AIO diapers these are my favorite.

This diaper leaked the first time or two, but after about five washes they no longer leak. These definitely need to be prepped more than Thirsties recommends! That said, I absolutely LOVE these diapers. Our main stash is a collection of 2-in-1 systems (mostly Best Bottom and Grovia) although we have prefolds/covers, fitteds, aios, and 3-in-ones. I find myself reaching for these Thirsties AIOs more often. We haven't seen any gaposis at the legs or waist. The size 1 is the same as size 2 on the smallest setting. Right now, our large 3 mo old fits into both. FYI: Our kiddo is tall with chubby thighs.

*They wash well
*Have not retained stink
*Held in explosive EBF poop even without double gusset
*Super soft inner
*Customizable absorbancy
*Trim for an AIO
*Aplix sticks without wrestling (like Best Bottoms H&L which is a little TOO sticky)

*IMHO too pricey for a full stash
*Adding a doubler inside the 'tunnel' is tricky because it is quite narrow in the crotch

These would be great for babysitters and grandparents! My hubby likes these because there is nothing to tuck, fold or check.

This is our first adventure in cloth diapering. After copious amounts of research, we decided to start with this brand. I purchased prefolds, the duo cover, a duo fab fitted, stay dry inserts, the duo AIOs, and the wipes, all from Thirsties. The AIO has been the easiest to use. My husband has no complaints about these versus disposables (and I'm shocked). These wash well, don't stain, dry in about 1 1/2 cycles in the dryer on medium (not too bad). The snaps hold up well to both my 2 month old and my 2 year old who wears them to bed. I haven't used them with a liner yet. I do recommend the snaps over the velcro though. The velcro doesn't hold up well in the wash after only a few weeks, and I've been careful with it. Also, one diaper arrived with a damaged snap (still functional but cracked). Thirsties customer service immediately sent out a replacement and postage paid return for the damaged one. Great customer service is a great bonus. Everything arrives in eco friendly packaging and is made in the USA.

My 12 month old has been in Thirsties cloth diapers since she was born (well, once we used up all of the disposable freebies). We've used the duo diapers with the stay dry duo inserts, the duo snap wraps with the prefold inserts, and the all in ones with the hemp inserts. They are all fantastic!

So, let's focus on the AIO. I love that I don't have to get my hands dirty during a changing by removing an insert. I love that I don't have to use an insert during the day. I love that I put it on like a regular diaper. I love that it's not as bulky as the others. And I love that it doesn't leak. However, I really have to keep an eye on the clock. If the baby goes 3 over hours in the same diaper, it can soak through or leak through the legs. This is the only Thirsties diaper I've tried that actually soaks through the diaper. So, if I'm busy cleaning the house or something, it'll mean getting my hands dirty on a wet diaper and needing a change of clothes.

If I had to choose a favorite among the 3, I would say it's a close tie... maybe with the duo wrap narrowly taking the lead. I like them all for different reasons and dislike different little things about them. The duo diapers and all in ones are about the same in that they are both just as easy as using a disposable. However, the duo requires an insert whereas the AIO does not except for heavy wetters and overnight. The duo diaper also is more expensive and bulkier than the AIO. Yet, the duo wrap requires an insert but you don't have to change the wrap, just the insert (for up to 3 changes- wiping it down each time). The only bad thing about them is having to fold the insert and making sure you put it in straight- oh, and having to pick up the urine soaked insert to change it.

After using pocket diapers of a few different styles for 18 months, I wanted to convert to All-in-One's, because we're just tired of stuffing. Unfortunately, this one isn't it.

Benefits: All in one style means no stuffing. Overall, the fit is good for my 8 month old.

Failures: Leaks. Every time we've used them, it's leaked. I did a test with a 1/4 cup of water holding the diaper in my hands, and I can see that the liquid is absorbing quickly (i.e., this isn't a problem that can be caused by not properly breaking in a new diaper), but it immediately starts to bleed through around the leg holes. The waterproof material doesn't appear to extend all the way through the elasticized legs. Eventually, when my son has worn these, the entire diaper ends up feeling wet.

Another down side is the drying time. These always came out of the dryer still damp, when all my other diapers are fully dry. I ended up turning it inside out between the washer and the dryer, which helped, but coupled with the fact that it leaks every time basically just means we're taking this out of the rotation altogether.

I'm giving this 2 stars because if you wanted to use it and just use a diaper cover over top, it would probably be fine. That defeats the purpose for us, though, because we really just wanted to have an All-in-One solution. We'll be sticking with our pockets or the BumGenius Freetime All-in-Ones.
