5.0 out of 5 stars Great diaper cover and most bang for your buck
I'm new to cloth diapering and have decided to do the good old fashioned prefold method. 3.0 out of 5 stars snaps come undone
i went for the snap version as opposed to the velcro to try something different with my cloth diapering adventure. the rise snaps come undone when on the middle setting (no, they aren't too tight when there, the snaps just seem loose). it feels very secure on the leg gussets and waist. i tend to just keep it open on the largest setting to avoid the annoyance of hearing...

5.0 out of 5 stars Great diaper cover and most bang for your buck, August 30, 2010

I'm new to cloth diapering and have decided to do the good old fashioned prefold method. So when I had to get the covers, I purchased a couple of each of the most popular brands, only going based on other people's reviews. I absolutely love these Thirsties. I have Imse Vimse, Little Beetle, Bumkins, and Kissaluv Wool covers along with the Thirsties. So far, these are the only covers that are true to size and actually fit my daughter when she was a newborn. My girl was 7lbs2oz when born and these covers were perfect for that time when you have to be careful of the umbilical cord. I purchased newborn sizes in other brands and they were huge. The thirsties fit right below her belly button to keep from rubbing up against it. I haven't had any leaks or blow outs in these either, even with the explosive BM's that newborns have in the first few months. Even when the prefold has been completely soaked, the cover has held up great. The leg gussets are also a plus in preventing leaks. I'll be purchasing more of these, especially since they're so inexpensive.

Update after 6 months of use:
These are still great economical covers, but they definitely don't go up to 18lbs. My daughter is now 15lbs and is in the 50th percentile for weight and height, and she has just outgrown these. But I must say that that isn't bad considering all of these sizes are approximate and most of the other covers I've been using hasn't been even close to their size ranges. She could still wear them just fine, but I've moved up in size in her prefold due to blowouts for every BM she had, and the cover doesn't fit with it. Still a great cover. I'll just need to get the next size up. But to use a cover, literally from birth to 6 months, is not bad for the price.

5.0 out of 5 stars excellent cloth diaper option, June 27, 2010

I've been CD-ing for three years, and I wish I'd started using these wrap snap covers earlier! I started out with pocket diapers because I thought they would be easier, but I have now changed my mind. I use tri-fold inserts with these. They don't leak unless the soaker is absolutely saturated, and I love that I am not spending time stuffing pockets any more. I'm also thrilled to have completely velcro-free multi-size covers, and these fit both my 10mo and my tall 2yo beautifully.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does the job, July 20, 2010

I have not used many diaper covers before, mostly just GroBaby (GroVia) or Thirsties. This is my first Thirsties in a snap and I do like it much more than the aplix. The aplix (Velcro) tended to irritate my daughter's skin, no good! So this solves that problem. However, this was the first size 2 of the duos that we tried, she just reached 16 lbs and was on the limit with her size 1. I have to say that the size 2 is much much bigger than the size 1. So right now it just seems huge on her. Maybe after awhile she will grow into it though. The only other small gripe is that the snaps around the waist are in a row, which means when you are putting it on you have to plan ahead a little on the fit. Other types that I have seen have them stacked vertically, which eliminates this problem. However, most of the others that I am comparing it to are much more expensive. I like the print a lot and I have never had a blowout in any thirsties covers, so I think they are really good for the price and function. Could be improved on though.

ps We just trifold a prefold in them and this works great.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great buy, December 18, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these cloth diaper covers to go with my Clotheez prefolds. I wanted the obvious benefits (environment, save money, potty train faster...) of cloth diapering but I was a bit apprehensive at first. I did alot of research on diaper covers before buying these covers. They fit my three criteria of having Snap covers, leg gussets (must have), and being adjustable. After having these for almost 3 months they have saved our furniture and our clothing from a lot of possible stains. I have also tried disposables that could not beat out these covers blow out protection. They do have a tag in the back that needs to be tucked in (you can cut it off though...) My mom bought 3 white colored covers that stain a little around the legs but seem to fade out after a few washes. The blue color cover that I purchased on my own has 0 stains on it. I love these covers so much however that I'm buying the 2nd size so that I can be ready when my son is big enough to wear them!
Suggestion : BUY COLORS! Part of the fun is that you can dress your baby in something different.

5.0 out of 5 stars Have tried a lot of others, and LOVE this wrap, September 24, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
What initially attracted me to this wrap is the cute designs they have compared to other brands. When I bought this wrap (I got the owl and blackbird designs) and used them, I realized why they got such great reviews.
Here are some of the specific things I like about this wrap:
1. Double gusseted leg openings. This makes for a snug fit around the legs and ultimately prevent leaks. I have used this wrap with both prefolds and with microfiber inserts from pocket diapers that I also use. Both work well.
2. You can use them with prefolds or inserts (see above). When I use the prefolds, I don't wrap them all the way around (like a traditional cloth diaper), I just fold it in thirds lengthwise and lay it flat in the wrap. For now that works the best for me (my daughter is now up to 9#6oz).
3. Easy to wash, and they dry very quickly.
4. They are great if you're going out for the day. As opposed to pocket diapers (which I like very much for different reasons and for different occasions.....like when I'm just at home), they take up a lot less space in the diaper bag and wet back. Instead of packing 5 pocket diapers with 5 inserts, I pack 3 wraps and 5 inserts (or however many I think I'll need....plus a few). It takes up a lot less space because you can reuse the wrap.
5. cute designs...as I mentioned above.
6. They fit my newborn from the start. Many diapers don't fit newborns. My daughter weighed 8#2oz at birth and these wraps fit from the beginning, and even fit low enough to leave the umbilical cord uncovered.
7. Thirsties are great compared to the Bummis wraps because these Thirsties wraps only have 2 sizes, whereas the Bummis ones have at least 3 or 4 (can't remember). I didn't want to have to keep buying another size diaper wrap as my daughter grew. I thought it made more sense to minimize the amount of money I had to spend and maximize the use I could get out of one wrap. Thirsties fit that bill.
8. I've washed them probably 6-8 times and so far they're holding up great.

The only 'con' I can think of is that you do have to buy 2 sizes rather than 1 like a lot of the one-size diapers (like Bum Genius or KaWaii).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great diaper cover!, November 28, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
After oodles of research on cloth diapers and covers, I decided to go with the Thirsties Duo Wrap Snap. They work phenomenally well - we've had some blow outs through the cloth, but never out of the Thirsties. They are very easy to put on, and as our son is at the lower end of the size 2 (at 18.6 pounds) - the snaps make it easy to re-size. I've washed these with the cloth diaper inserts, and hung to dry. A bonus is that they are made in the USA and packaged in compostable plastic wrap!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the absolute best covers available, February 4, 2011
By
D. Emerson (Southern Colorado) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
I have quite a few different types of diapers in my cloth stash, including covers, prefolds, pockets, and all-in-ones, but my Thirsties covers with my prefolds are by far my favorite out of them all, and I reach for them the most often. They're just less hassle for me, and the laundry is so much easier than pockets. (Plus they're so much cheaper than any other option.) In fact, pockets have been primarily relegated to "Dad days" or days when they baby isn't with me, because these covers are so great.

Pros:
-Very trim fitting, especially for a cover, even on babies with skinny waists. I've never had an issue where this diaper did not fit well, which is uncommon with some of the other snap one-size covers, because her waist is so thin compared with her chunky legs.
-Gussets on the legs keep in messes, no matter how messy they might be. I've never had a leak onto my babies clothes with these overs, and she has some serious blowouts.
-Thick material, which really stands up well to washing.

Cons:
-Only con is that with some prefolds, depending on how you fold them inside the cover, the diaper can be a bit bulkier than some pockets, which I know some people dislike about cloth. Honestly, I don't really care that much about bulk, since it's just an aesthetic; as long as her butt is covered and leaks are contained, I don't really care how big it might look.

I've been using Thirsties duo wrap Snap for a week now, I didn't have any leak (day and night), I can wash them by hand and dry line them, they get dry quickly, they're stylish, the quality look good and I love that they're made in the USA.
