The holder is only design to hold coffee cups. It is horrible in holding water bottles.

I am disappointed in this cup holder. The attachment piece works like a vice. It slips around the round foam-covered part of the handlebar. You then screw the clasp in to lock it in place. However, I have screwed the clasp as tight as I can, but the cup holder still moves. So if I have a cup of coffee (or water bottle) in there, the cup holder rotates to about 2 o'clock and my drink spills out! I can't get it to sit upright. That's my only (but major) complaint. Otherwise, I like that it holds beverages of various sizes.

I have tried two water bottles in this - a camel back and a steel one (brand unknown) and it hasn't fit either. I'm guessing it fits disposable water bottles, but I don't use those. It also twists and turns and the piece that fits on the stroller to attach it has sharp parts that have cut both my husband and I.

It works OK. Easy to remove from the stroller when folding up the stroller. Does not accept all water bottle sizes.

I agree with the other negative reviews. This cup holder is terrible. When you first secure it and tighten it, it seems like it will hold just fine. But then you put a full cup or water bottle into it and start moving. Withing a few minutes the cup holder will slip and your cup will now be in a horizontal position and the drink will either spill or the bottle can fall out. Then you think, "I must not have secured it tight enough". Trust me, that won't help. I've tightened this holder REALLY tight, but it still slides around (just like the previews reviewer said). I tried several different positions on the stroller handle but nothing works. Plus it really gets in the way of using the handlebar, especially if you have a dog on leash. I actually have a Phil and Ted's stroller, so if they can't get it to work on their own strollers, not sure I try it on any other stoller.
Save your money, buy a spill proof mug/cup and just put it in the bottom compartment. This cup holder is not worth the money or aggravations.

Great alternative for Uppababy Vista,
This review is from: phil&teds Thirsty Works Cup Holder for Classic/Explorer Strollers, Black (Baby Product)
Anyone that has an uppababy vista knows how difficult it is to find a decent cupholder that fits and works. The one the company sells is a joke as it pops off and at $25 each it can get expensive to keep replacing. I tried the Munchkin universal one and that did not fit any part of my stroller. Then I got this one, so far no complaints. Yes the bottom could be a bit bigger to accommodate say a steel water bottle but it's ok. It holds my cold coffee from popular coffee shops. I did have to push the foam lining on the handle bar to the side so it can grip on to the metal part of the handle bar otherwise if you try to put it directly on the foam it will keep slipping, so it kind of sits in between the foam and the handle adjuster. The best thing about this is I don't have to take it off when folding the stroller either, I just flip it to the side and it folds down easily.
