5.0 out of 5 stars WOW!!
These are the most fantastic coasters ever!! I got tired of my cheap coasters sticking to the bottom of my glass and then falling off in mid-air. These are great! They actually absorb all the condensation off the glass.

2.0 out of 5 stars Scratched my tabletop, April 30, 2010

I ordered these specifically to protect my brand new coffee table and end table. I was glad to read in the description that they had cork on the bottom to protect tabletops from the stone. Unfortunately, the soft cork is just a small circle on the bottom and it does NOT go to the edge of the coaster. The first time I put one of them down to see how they looked on my table, I picked one up and the stone edge accidentally touched the table and immediately put two scratches in it. They were very small scratches, but if they scratched it so quickly and easily with the slightest brush against the table top, I wouldn't want to see what my tables would look like after a party! It was a pretty coaster, but I couldn't keep something that scratched the very surface it was supposed to protect. I packed it up and returned it immediately. If you are very careful and aren't terribly worried about little scratches on your tables, then these would be fine, but I have seen similar ones with protective cork all the way to the end and I think those are safer for furniture.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good!, June 17, 2010

I bought this coaster set along with the Thirstystone (standup) Dark Walnut Coaster Holder (which fits great!) after reading a lot of reviews on Thirstystone coasters. I was interested in buying a coaster that would not lift with my drink and scare me as it falls onto the table like my glass coaster tends to do. Additionally, the ability to soak up moisture from my drink is a plus. My coasters' images look pretty close to the vibrancy of the image on this site albeit a little duller, and the images are all centered. Though it is the heaviest coaster I've ever owned, that quality and the fact that it is porous does ensure that it won't lift with my drink. Therefore, it fits my purpose great. Sometimes it does leave a little sand residue if I put a cup down onto it hard, but it's no trouble to clean up. Finally, it does have a cork backing on it that leaves about 1/4" or less around the edges unprotected so I will just have to be a little careful when lifting this off my wooden table so as not to scratch my table. Overall, I'm pleased with this purchase and hope this will last for awhile.

3.0 out of 5 stars A lesson in reading descriptions, February 15, 2010

When I ordered this product, I didn't get passed the picture and the title words "Marble Mosaic." I was more than a little disappointed when I opened the package and the coasters weren't marble mosaic, but sandstone with a (off-center) print on them. I'm sure the sandstone coasters will serve my purpose just fine--and to be fair, the description and title clearly state they are sandstone--but don't expect the coasters to look as nice as the display picture. What I received looks like a cheap, printed knock-off of the pictured coaster.

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite coasters, February 11, 2010

I've used Thirsty Stone coasters exclusively since my first purchase in a gift shop a few years ago. The original one is still as beautiful as the day I bought it, even with daily use. I have a couple other sets, and just added the "marble mosaic" pattern and one of the holders. The colors are vibrant and look very pretty in my family room. They are the best coasters I've found because of their weight (they don't lift up with your drink), their superior absorbency, and the fact they last indefinitely and are easily cleaned when needed. They are beautiful enough to leave out on every surface that can (and has) been damaged by not so thoughtful guests and visiting kids. If their price seems a little high for coasters, for the quality and durability these are well worth it. (Also for the time they save me in not having to sand and refinish my furniture!)

3.0 out of 5 stars a little deceiving, January 13, 2011

These coasters look nicer in the photo than they do in real-life. The paint job on top of the sandstone looks cheaper than the photo suggests, and the circular mosaic pattern isn't centered very well. Likewise, the cork bottom on 3 of the 4 coasters are centered poorly too. They look OK overall and do the job of a coaster well enough, but I wouldn't pay $18 for this set again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Mine Look Just Like the Picture, April 29, 2010

Thirstystone coasters are the best! They absorb the condensation from your glass and don't stick to your glass like some other coasters can. Even though they are a little more expensive they are worth it. We learned about these coasters from a family member years ago and we love them. Some other reviews mentioned that their coasters didn't look like the picture but mine do; not sure if there were different dye batches... the pattern is centered and very colorful so far (not sure if they'll fade over time).

1.0 out of 5 stars Not impressed, October 20, 2010

I'm afraid I did not find these coasters very attractive in person. They looked much better in the picture on this site. The fact that one of my coasters was broken in half when I opened the box didn't help matters much, either. I returned them.

3.0 out of 5 stars ok, December 4, 2011

I didn't expect what I got, but I should have. I thought the top of the surface looked nicer pictured online then it did when I got it. That is my fault though. I should have realized thirsty stone coasters look flat with painted on design. They have a matte finish. The holder they came in is exactly as pictured.

No super happy with the quality of this product. Plus one came chipped. I thought they would be a lot more colorful but the color is very flat. Doesn't really look like the picture. Overall they are just ok.
