It suffers from the affliction of trying to cover too much history in too few pages,

This review is from: The Thirteen Colonies (We the People (Compass Point Books Hardcover)) (Library Binding)
This book suffers from the affliction of trying to cover too much history. It begins in 1585 when Sir Walter Raleigh sent the first group of English colonies to Roanoke Island on the Atlantic seaboard and ends with the establishment of the United States in 1783. Nearly 200 years of dynamic history is condensed into 41 pages. While some effort is made to describe the differences in the people that established the original 13 colonies, those significant points are not emphasized enough. Nothing is covered in any depth to make it worthwhile as a reference. For these reasons, I consider this book a poor resource for classes in elementary school history.
