Great Sing-along CD, September 20, 2002
This review is from: Thirty Six Sing Along Favorites: Mitch Miller And The Gang (Audio CD)
If you like to "Sing Along with Mitch," you'll love this CD. It has a bunch of tunes, many from the 1920's, 30's, and 40's.
The words are not provided, so if you do not know them, well, this is a great way to learn them.
The quality of remastering is excellent--you really cannot tell that this was not originally digital. If you do not know who Mitch Miller is, he lead a television show for about 10 years, from the early/mid fifties through the early/mid 60's. The show consisted of a large number of men singing along with a small group of instruments (harmonica, accordian, guitar, and gentle drums). This is music meant for singing or enjoying the simplicity of tunes from an era when people not only listened, but also sang along.
We sometimes use these CD's to sing along with in social gatherings as part of a fun time. The arrangements are simple, the songs singable and well known.

Thirty-Six Sing Along Favorites: Mitch Miller and The Gang, November 18, 2009
This review is from: Thirty Six Sing Along Favorites: Mitch Miller And The Gang (Audio CD)
If you like to sing along to the old American song favorites; this is the CD for you! I grew up with Mitch Miller and loved his old TV program. It would make a nice gift for Baby Boomers and for teachers, who want to teach some of the old favorites to their classes. I used to bring in my old music to amuse my students and they were mesmerized.
