I thought the cook book was very good. The recipes I have tried were very tasty. It was very interesting to put a little history with each set of recipes.

Great cookbook. Simple recipes and elegant. I loved some of the history of former Arkansas governors.
My favorite recipe I have tried is the killer pound cake. As a native of Arkansas. I enjoyed the stories in this book. No matter the political leaning of any governor I came away with a deeper respect for governors I'd never even heard about. It stops at former president Clinton because the author retired.

I thought this was a sweet little cookbook. I enjoyed both Ms. Ashley's memories of the Arkansas governors she cooked for and her recipes. Though not typically edgy or gourmet, all the recipes are tried and true, just like my grandmother (Nannie) used to cook. There are recipes in it that I use over and over and have blogged about.
