September 7, 2000
Ever wondered what happened to your first love? Imagine bumping into them twelve years later and realizing you still fancy them rotten. That's exactly what happens to Dig Ryan when he sees Delilah again. Now imagine you're Nadine. You and Dig have been best friends for fifteen years. And you've finally realized that you're in love with him. So when Delilah who always was your nemesis returns, you're mad with jealousy and can't help behaving childishly. Like phoning your first love Phil just to get your own back Thirty-Nothing is a story of ex-boyfriends, ex-girlfriends and friends dabbling with yesterday when they really should be thinking about today.

One of her better tries October 25, 2006

I really liked Ralph's Party and ordered a bunch of Lisa Jewell's books and was disappointed. Finally I found another one that was well worth reading. I really enjoyed reading Thirty Nothing. It's basically the story of a girl and a boy who have been best friends since they were young, and how long it took them to realize they were in love. You won't believe what they make each other and themselves go through in order to realize this.

After reading Ralph's Party I came across this book. It's a love funny story between childhood friends. Both characters realize they are meant for each other at different stages of their lives. The descriptions and the things that the characters go through are very funny. After I finished reading, it left me with a good feeling. I recommend this book for those who are looking for something fun, light and with love in it.

This book got really poor reviews in the Uk and I can see why. The characters are so over the top and agitating that the reader actually grows to hate them all. The story is OK but the details are so over the top that you just roll your eyes when you're reading it. It's a bad made for TV movie with bad actors and a bad director.

The publisher obviously didn't edit very well because there are words used that are completely inappriate as if a child used a thesaurus and went with the first word that came up regardless of its context use in a sentence. There are some spelling errors and overall this book just wan't up to scratch.

I picked it up through Book Crossers and released it into the wild hoping someone would it enjoy it more than I would. It's not appropriate for anyone over 30 and not living in a messed up life in London. If you're an adult with a real life, give this one a miss. The only saving grace to this book is that it is written with a good flow and the ending does not disappoint as it can in many other books in the 'women's fiction' category.
