Oh, yawn! This seventh in the acid jazz compilation series is just boring! I was so excited by earlier volumes (Vol. 3, 5 especially) and was looking forward to getting this new CD. But the selections are uninspired, the performances stale, and the resulting compilation.. well...really the sum of the parts -- forget it!

So it's gonna change...it has become more R/B 70's flavored and less jazzy...that's a positive evolution- Ask Maxwell, Jill Scott and Musiq Soulchild. Funk Shack West opens up the CD a tight head bobbin joint by the Sharpshooters, there are a couple of Chris Bangs compositions (check YADA YADA-Fingalikkin Good it really tastes like chicken-thats really Chris Bangs). Then Swing Machine gets us in touch with James Brown with Soul is Whats Happening. Tonite by Woody Cunningham as a gem and what you buy CD's for-quality and a new point of view every time you play it. I think this other review got his volumes mixed up....
