This Time Around,
By Anne K. Edwards "AKE" (Pennsylvania) - See all my reviews
This review is from: This Time Around (Paperback)
Title: This Time AroundAuthor: Nancy Melinda Hunley Publisher: L. A. Dydds, Inc. ISBN: 0974283002 (soft cover) ISBN: 0974283037 (hard cover) Genre: Romance Rachael Taite's wedding day is like a trip through the looking glass when she remembers the series of events over a number of years that brought her to this point in her life. It's a trip back you will enjoy taking with her. Talented Nancy Melinda Hunley has written a touching, poignant tale of true love that will survive the ages, a story of two hearts that have met more than once and will find each other again. A touch of the paranormal lifts this well written story to a plane higher than the ordinary romance, and will touch your heart as you read. You will share Rachael's emotions and troubles as you read, smiling and wanting to cry with her. Two middle-aged people have a chance meeting on a mountaintop that changes them and their lives. While their passion will steam up your glasses, you will enjoy a love story that is not based on two pretty faces as told by an author whose other books you will be wanting to read. Guaranteed to keep you reading, a highly recommended romance that will satisfy any reader as you meet the cast of lifelike characters with all their flaws and realities. Enjoy. I sure did.

This novel definitely put me in touch with life as a ordinary southern woman with an extraordinary life. A wonderful afternoon read.

Fantasy fodder,
By A Customer
This review is from: This Time Around (Paperback)
It was a fun adventure to participate in with the characters. I found it interesting to read a story set in my locale with references to landmarks of my life. Knoxvillians should enjoy this use of our setting. Perhaps a personal life unlike most in reality, but substance for fantasies.

Not an alpha male romance,
By A Customer
This review is from: This Time Around (Paperback)
a real modern day southern belle romance but not your typical alpha male. Good picture of a modern day southern woman in middle age who finds a true love. Loved the quirky way some of the characters speak.

This Time Around,
This review is from: This Time Around (Paperback)
I love a book that takes me along for the ride. This one certainly did! This is a perfect book to take to the beach or read all day on a rainy Sunday. I felt like I was in the Smoky Mountains the whole time(except when Rachael went off on one of her jaunts. Then she let me tag along) Read it. You will love it!All I want to know is "When can I get another book by this author?????"

Indulge Yourself,
By Kathleen Sales (Knoxville, TN United States) - See all my reviews
This review is from: This Time Around (Paperback)
This Time Around is a saga of romance and rededication to life. As self-indulgent as a long hot bubble bath, this story features two mature lovers. The heroine, Rachael JubelleLee Taite, twice married and divorced at forty-two, has long since eschewed romance and runs her own restaurant in Knoxville, Tennessee. On an annual hike with her Mother up to the Lodge at Mount LeConte, she falls in love with a man from California. Christopher, a grey haired Italian, comes already laden with wife, kids and a career.Rachael's attempts to balance her attraction against the values of her proper Southern background are both humorous and poignant. Equally refreshing are their conversations dotted with uniquely Southern aphorisms, which Rachael has to translate to her lover. The eloquent descriptive passages, complete with explicit steamy love scenes, will titillate and tantalize all of your senses as you tour the U.S. and abroad. The romantic story line is familiar, but this novel dares to do more. It seduces the reader into partaking of the healing power of love, even when that love exists in the hereafter. A sweet read. |
