When ordering an item to get your name into your books, you want something that marks the book as "something special". This set not only does that, it provides plates in several size plates, as well as a section where you can record ro whom the book has been loaned and the date of the loaning. It's a perfect compliment to any home library.

I bought this product for my 9 year old granddaughter for Christmas, because she was getting several books as gifts. She loved it so much she's almost used it all, and I'm going to have to buy another! The book plates are self-adhesive and easy to use. Very decorative, and even plates for books given as a gift. I looked all over for these, and could only find them here.

I didn't entirely know what to expect from these bookplates, since looking "inside the book" only showed me the record of book loans and none of the actual bookplates. Had I looked more closely at the cover, though, I would have found one of the designs almost exactly as it is reproduced inside the book: the border around the title. The designs generally all follow that same style of hand-drawn, heavy and dark-lined floral themed artwork. (The sort of prismatic angular surround on the cover represents the colors accurately but none of the plates follow that style.) The inscription prompts are in a variety of styles, ranging from classic script to the embellished caps featured for the title (which is also reproduced in the interior) to the angled block-cut look of the "30 Pages of" directly below the title. The maroons, browns and grays from the cover comprise the plates' color scheme, along with dusty greens and roses. The overall look strikes me as Elegant Victorian by way of Jr. High School; I'm not surprised that some previous reviewers had chosen them for grandkids.

There are two or three plates on each page of the book, which means there's quite a few for you to use up. The paper is fairly thin, which makes it easier to put on a title page rather than the inside cover, but also seems a little flimsy. The "Book Loaned to" and "Book Given to" pages aren't something I think I'll ever use, so I would have preferred two extra pages of plates. As another reviewer noted, it is nice that there are specific plates for gift books, but they don't leave quite enough room for my tastes, since there isn't space to mark the occasion or write an actual dedication.

It's difficult to find `this book belongs to' bookplates & labels to put inside the covers of your most cherished books anymore. With the continued closing of brick and mortar bookstores, it's also dicey to know the quality of those sold online. So finding artist Grady McFerrin's quality made bookplate/labels on Amazon was a big relief.

The collection contains 48 bookplates, 24 labels, 3 bookmarks, and a borrower's log. The bookplates have the classic phrase, "This Book Belongs To", and the labels are blank in the center for your own adaption. There are 12 different designs with muted colors of sage, rose, and a variety of earth tones. The designs are full of detail with scrolling, swirls, and flowers. There are two sizes, both of which fit perfectly in all manner size books. They're easy to apply, and Sharpie pens work great with no smearing. All is packaged in a cleaver compact and easy to use tear out book. I highly recommend this economical, yet quality set of bookplates for your library investment.

These are very pretty but they have one fault, the stickers blend so well with the page graphic it's hard to find the edge to pull them away. Other than that, they are very nice. I think they are whimsical and that is really why I chose them :-).
