A "must read" book for those of us in this lifestyle,
By Bill Cunningham (New York) - See all my reviews
This review is from: This Curious Human Phenomenon: An Exploration of Some Uncommonly Explored Aspects of BDSM (Paperback)
OK, I'll admit that I'm a Peter Masters fan. Masters' The Control Book is another I consider a core-reading for any library on D/s or M/s relations. After spending a few chapters making sure we're all on the same page, Masters moves on to provide some truly insightful ideas. To my utter astonishment, reading Chapter 7 changed the way I kiss when involved in a power exchange setting. Chapter 12 prompted me to introduce a new pair of protocols that has vastly helped get my partner into the head-space she needs in order both to go to work in the mornings, and to come present with me when she returns from work every day. (As my M/s structure is very "protocol heavy," I was delighted to see how Masters' ideas could immediately be translated into a new and very helpful process in my own life.) I highly recommend this book. It's one of the few available that actually causes a reader to stop, reflect, and move to action. Nicely done, Peter. |
