Book Description

June 9, 2009

Claire Winters was a society girl. Jack Murphy was born a roughneck. But at a time when women were expected to play by the rules, Claire was determined to break all of them....

Rebecca Murphy was planning her grandparents' wedding anniversary party when she was reunited with her onetime wedding fling, Ryan Fuller. But while their chemistry still sizzled, Ryan maintained his position--he was always the groomsman...and never the groom!

Successful businessman Nate Aldrich had always avoided settling down...until single mom and restaurant owner Jordan Chelsey showed him just what kind of life he might find inside that fabled white picket fence.

About the Author

Born into a newspaper family, some of Candace Camp's earliest memories are of making up stories which she played out on the floor of their den with whatever objects were handy.  She is currently the author of over 60 novels, including the bestselling Regency romances The Courtship Dance, The Wedding Challenge and The Bridal Quest

3.0 out of 5 stars One Story Makes It Worth It, July 5, 2011

Three connected stories in this anthology. They are meant to be read in a linear fashion, but you won't miss anything if you read out of order.

Candace Camp's No Regret

This is a new author for me, and the last story I read - and the only one that made buying this book worth it. It's set after WWII, and the details flavor the story, but don't overwhelm it. In other words, if you don't normally read historicals, no fear: it reads like a contemporary. I liked both characters, although you don't get to really know the hero very well. (You like what you do know, though). And everybody can sympathise with the heroine, who is struggling with those telling her she can't have it all. Good story, and I will look for something else by this author.

Gina Wilkins' Always the Groomsman

I am a fan of the author (especially those with the medical setting), but I didn't enjoy this story. I could list a couple of issues: the heroine had her heart broken 2.5 years ago because a vacation fling didn't turn into HEA (rolling my eyes); the setting is claustrophobic, since it's a working weekend for her; and there are no secondary characters that supply any comic relief or interest. But the bottom line is I didn't like either of the lead couple enough to care if they ended up together.

Allison Leigh's The Daddy Track

I am also a Leigh fan, and this story was an improvement over the previous one, but it didn't hold my attention for long. I liked the beginning well enough, especially the heroine. She seemed connected, not a woman waiting on her Prince Charming to have a life. Examples include the caretaking of her pregnant employee, or her kids' relationship with the traveling neighbor. But the hero didn't really stand out at all, and the romance never really took off for me. I was actually more interested in the brief bit about her father being treated for depression than will-they or won't-they? Forgettable.

5.0 out of 5 stars three fun romances, June 6, 2009
This review is from: From This Day Forward: No Regrets\Always the Groomsman\The Daddy Track (Mass Market Paperback)
"No Regrets" by Candace Camp. Claire and Jackson Murphy will celebrate their diamond wedding anniversary with their grandchildren by telling them about their wild WWII courtship.

"Always the Groomsman" by Gina Wilkins. Wedding planner Rebecca Murphy is working with Bridezilla as she arranges her second cousin Melanie's wedding. However that proves easier than dealing with her attraction to groomsman Ryan Fuller, her ex.

"The Daddy Track" by Allison Leigh. Aldrich-Chelsey Financial Corp businessman Nate Aldrich grieves the loss of his business partner and best friend Luke; his depression is compounded by guilt as he was the reason Luke and Jess Chelsey were on the highway. When Luke's sister, restaurant owner Jordan asks him to stay in Amarillo for now to help her with some problems that just surfaced; neither was prepared for what else surfaced.

FROM THIS DAY FORWARD contains three fun romances starring strong lead couples. Each of the novellas provide differing story lines especially Candace Camp's "historical", but the trio are super as duets tango and tangle in love.
