If I ever have a heart attack, it will likely be while listening to this album. This is what you get when you mix a hardcore punk band with modern metal production--extremely intense, heavy, angry hardcore. Having received a little help from members of Sepultura, Fear Factory and the Deftones, this album will appeal to the thrash and punk crowds alike.

Strife's live performances following this release were just as amazing as the album. Their show in Denver was one of the best hardcore concerts I have seen or heard (and I've been to hundreds). I was amazed to see that the band was a bunch of lanky jockish kids. They reproduced the intensity found on this album perfectly while throwing their guitars around like Spinal Tap and with the singer often crouched down, pounding his fists on the stage while barking into the microphone.

As can be expected with the best albums, the follow-up, "Angermeans," is terrible. Strife gave it their all for this one. A must for any hardcore and thrash collection.

i am 28yrs old now but i have owned this cd since i was 15 and it still sound just as good or better now then most of the crap that is labeled hardcore these days. Victory records used to be a brutal label this is by far one of strife and victory records best releases. if victory still had strife, earth crisis , integrity and hatebreed it would be a good label.the nice thing about this record is i can crack open a beer and time travel back to my teens every time i listen to it

This is one of the best album in hardcore history(i don't care what other people say),Will to die ,Blistered etc.rules,,,if you dont like hardcore listen to this album and you'll never be the same again,if your into hardcore...YOU WILL LOVE THIS!!!!and by the way Chino(Deftones),Igor(Sepultura),Dino(FEAR FACTORY) are also guested in this album,so all i can say is.please for the love of GOD....BUY IT!!!!!!!!!

This is the greatest hardcore CD i have. It's just as good as minor threat. In this Defiance is way better than their first CD. This CD is a lot more agressive and harder. Great sXe music. Songs like, waiting, force of change, will to die, blistered are just great. I could live without the intro and outro though. It doesn't matter. everything between that is great. A must have CD for anyone

With all of the negativity associated with the hardcore scene, Strife stands out beautifully with their positive and uplifting message. I applaud their efforts to create a more caring, loving world through their musical talents. Kudos! --Kelly Magovern

I love this CD. Fast, hard, and straight-edge. The three main ingredients to most great hardcore bands!

I, personally, am not all that into the "straight-edge" scene, but for a sXe band, their sound is hardcore and aggressive. It just plain rocks. - M. Alexander

the songs are good and powerful but the energy of the record is diminished by that awful intro and outtro, and the sounds between songs.
