Disappointed,
This review is from: This is Everybody! On Tour (Audio CD)
I'm going to have to say overall, on this double-disc from Sander & Lee, I am disappointed.
Now I absolutely loved both of his previous "This is Everybody" releases. Those two sets gave me over 4+ hours of great music! For some reason though, this "On Tour" one doesn't do anything for me. The excitement and energy seem to be zapped out of it. The track selections just aren't that great. It's not like it's awful or painful to listen to; it's just not that interesting. I had a hard time sitting through all of it at once. It's a big letdown from what I had expected/hoped for. I'm still fairly hopeful that This is Everybody 3 will return Sander to his top-notch form. If you're a serious Sander collector, wait for the used copies to start popping up on this one.

It takes time to enjoy this CD,

When I first got the CD, I was a little disappointed. After listening to Lee's Disc for about 3 times, I started to feel the beat. At that point I was wondering why Sander did a poor job on his Disc.
After listening to Lee's Disc for about 1 week, I decided to give Sander's Disc another try, and I was surprised because Sander's disc had a better set than Lee's Disc(which was already amazing), but it just took time to get into this CD.

Expanding the Limitations of Sound,
By Kamran Kafi "Delta Heavy" (Los Angeles, CA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: This is Everybody! On Tour (Audio CD)
In the past several years, I have been dissapointed many times by the more and more electro-funk/retro-80s vocal style that most Djs have started playing.
This is Everybody! On tour is different. It does not take you back to the deep dark progressive sounds and beats of the Delta heavy times. However, it is far from a cheesy vocal mix overpowerd by electro sounds. This CD is a great introduction to the range of styles that encompass progressive house as it is today and somewhat allow us to open up to some of the newer elements present today. It includes tracks form different styles, all pretaining a certain pushing element and deep baseline that keeps the music interesting and energetic, without getting annoying. Disc 1 is somewaht of a compositions.starts out with a track that would fit best into a eclectic electronica genre and slowly builds up a tempo. As the Cd progresses the Basslines become heavier and deeper. Although never loosing a groovy touch, the first CD is a goood mix that does not get boering. Disc 2 starts out much faster. It is more of a dance mix then a composition. Many of the songs have driving baselines that are deep and still groovy. Although sometimes vocal, this CD keeps it interesting by alternating progressive styles. Overall I loved both CD's, more than the previous release by Sander K.
