EXCELLENT Indian Romance,
By A Customer
This review is from: This Fierce Loving (Paperback)
If you like a sexy Indian hero and a good hearted innocent heroine you will LOVE this book. I haven't read any books quite like this one. I felt like I was right there with Fire Talon and Rebecca during their incredible journey. By far one of the best books I've ever read. Thank you Ms. French for the hours of entertainment. The only bad thing about this book is that I did not want it to end. What a great read especially if you like this theme!!!!

One of my Top Picks,

This has to be one of my favorite books that I go back to time and again. There's a surprise ending that will take your breath away. The love scenes are perfect. The book is primarily about the journey they take after she is captured. That, in my opinion, is exactly what you want in a romance novel: time alone with just him and her. Believe it or not, this is the only Judith E. French novel that I own. I have tried her other stuff, but she just never came close to writing like this again, IMHO. Buy this, read it and enjoy.

A story of love and sadness,

I loved the love story. The lovers' actions, bravery, falling for each other and being together was fabulous, but the book was too depressing and made me sad. It took place in a setting where white men tortured and killed Indians. Rebecca's husband was evil to the Indians and was abusive to her. There was much sadness throughout the book. Even though it had a happy ending, I felt sad at the end. I guess I prefer romance novels that don't leave me with tears.

...I only *just* liked this book. I wasn't bored by it; I kept wanting to read it, but overall there was just something lacking - some depth of feeling? Some lack in the characterizations? I never really got caught up in the story, although the author could keep the plot moving, so I remained interested in finding out what happened. As the story went on, I liked the hero more & more, and liked the heroine -- much less! She didn't always seem worthy of the hero. For instance, she kept bringing up being a Catholic and thus, being unable to leave her totally awful husband for good, and living with the hero as his Indian wife. Well, no matter about religion, I darn sure could leave a husband (emotionally and physically) who hit me, never slept with me, and treated my little brother as a whipping boy! So I lost respect for the heroine as this aspect of her character was explored.
I can still recommend the book, just about, but from reading some of the reviews here, other people appreciated the story more than I did. I can say, though, that it was one of the better Native American/white woman plots I've read (most of these are pretty silly & pretty bad). I think 3 stars is a fair rating. It's OK but not spectacular.

Unbearably romantic.......( 4 1/2 stars),

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book! I have been on a real roll lately..reading keeper after keeper. "This Fierce Loving" was no exception. What a story! It was refreshing because it was so different from the masses of other romances that I have read. I so enjoyed the characters! Talon could not have been any sexier and Becca was strong without being annoying. The story surrounding them was not only romantic, but so action packed and exciting!! So why not 5 stars? I had a quibble. I didnt feel that the storyline involving Colin offered much closure...also, I thought that the ending conflict felt a bit rushed. Other than that..wow...what a keeper. Definitely one that Id recommend!
