Theirs is more than a power struggle between two strong personalities. Private investigators Harley Prince and Mac Gerard share a profound attraction - one she is not willing to act upon. Mac knows that he is in for the trouble of his life and he will break any rule to get Harley into bed. He thinks that a wild fling will satisfy his unbearable urge. But when an investigation brings them together twenty-four/seven, Mac gets more than he expected.

Harley unequivocally turns Mac down at every turn. She considers him a spoiled, rich boy and does not take him seriously. Eventually she yields, however, hoping that a night together will get him out of her system. Meanwhile, to catch a thief, Harley and Mac will have to go undercover, pretending to marry. But when the investigation is complete, someone has to risk their heart to learn if they can have a fling that will last a lifetime.

Author Jeanie London pens a delightful romp in WITH THIS FLING. Harley is a marvelous heroine with her lighthearted approach to affairs that sharply contrasts her professional image. Her determination to not yield to Mac gives him quite the run for his money. Mac knows his tactics are unfair, but will do anything to convince Harley to share her bed. A steamy, fun, sexy tale sure to please, WITH THIS FLING comes highly recommended.

3.0 out of 5 stars heroine torn between 2 lovers, September 11, 2010
Gun-totting PI heroine partners with new PI hero, who she argues with a lot, to find his wealthy grandfather's missing jewelry. She resists her attraction towards him but hero is intent on having a sexual or romantic r/s with her & works to breakdown her resistance.

Don't care much for this London book, although it's not a bad book. I don't like reading romance novels where the main character seems more emotionally involved with another lover, like an ex-BF in this instance. Heroine seemed very conflicted about who she wanted to be with. Hero was clearly more invested in a r/s with heroine & I felt sorry for him & thought he was in for a heartache to choose to be with someone who still had strong feelings for her ex. Even at the end, I wasn't convinced that heroine was truly in love with the hero. Sexually attracted to him, yes. And even liking him for his niceness & sense of humour. But in love with hero...no. I think heroine chose hero or convinced herself she was in love with him at the end b/c her on-off BF didn't pursue her as much as hero did. If her ex-BF put up a fight, I think she would've chosen him instead. Sexual chemistry, love scenes, & dialogue were good.

Somewhat recommended.

4.0 out of 5 stars torrid fun tale, March 7, 2004
Private Investigator Harley Prince detests going undercover with sleuthing peer Mac Gerard as he represents everything she loathes in a man. He is a spoiled, wealthy hunk who knows that women want him. However, deep in her gut Harley feels the same as the female masses because she to desires Mac in her bed. She figures a one night stand will rid her system of her craving.

Mac breaks all the gender war rules to get the aloof beauty Harley to make love with him. He thinks of her all time alternating between both of his heads as his blood flows freely up and down. He finds her avoidance of him though they are undercover together increases his desire to bed her. He figures a short fling will cleanse his system of having Harley as the only impulse feeding his brain.

However, when they finally make love neither wants it to end, but who will speak up risking their heart for the chance of a lifetime fling?

Harley is a terrific courageous heroine and may have his run of women, but balances his lighthearted affairs with a serious demeanor when it comes to the job. The assignment pales next to the gender war. In fact their skirmishes under the covers and undercover turn a trite story line used frequently in books and movies into a torrid fun tale.

5.0 out of 5 stars very moving, November 16, 2008
I absolutely love this story. I have read it multiple times and I still tear up at certain parts. The chemistry between Mac and Harley is so palatable you want to see where it goes. I especially love how round each character is. I also love how I really got to know Harley's past and in return learn more about MAc.
