This is the first album from The Lions that I listened to and I really enjoy it. There is not a bad song on this album, and I appreciate it more after each listen. It's a really chill album that I can tell will be in my rotation for a very long time. My favorite tracks are "Bird on a Wire," "This Generation," "Be Easy," and "Padre Ichiro."

I heard 20 seconds of the title track "This Generation" and knew that I had to own this record. Sometimes you get sucked in by one great song and the rest of the cd is just ok, that is NOT the case here. I considered giving it 5 stars, but I have so much respect for other great artists, that I couldn't do it after only hearing it a few times. Regardless, great vibes from start to finish!

Reggae music has been a mainstay of my listening for years now and i dont take it lightly.Lets face it,there isn't a lot of it that sits true to its past form.Unfortunately at times it can come off as being overly formulaic and stale sounding.Being somewhat of a stubborn purist, the thought of a racially mixed group of non-jamaicans (tho i did fall pretty hard for UB40 when they started)made me think ''bar band''.I learned to let the music speak for itself and does it ever!.The instrumentation is tight and features plenty of great horns througout. Its great to hear the Heptones Leroy Sibbles on the classic ''Picture On The Wall''but the band hold up their end in the vocal department(check out Malik Moore's falsetto on 'This Generation'').Each song has a different vibe from dancehall dj driven tracks to lovers rock(''Pieces Of A Man''), roots reggae(''Revelations'') and ''Be Easy'' ,an original track that could stand up well against any classic early reggae tune.My only complaint is that nobody needs to do or hear a reggae cover of a Van Halen song(Jamie's Cryin') but i'll let that go.This CD makes you feel like summer is just around the corner.
