There are many compilations available for Darin's chart hits; what sets this 3-CD box apart (aside from the super price)from
the rest is that it contains five complete albums recorded between 1966-1967.They are: "If I Were A Carpenter", "Inside Out", "Sings Doctor Dolittle", "Shadow Of Your Smile" and "In A
Broadway Bag". Superb sound, original recordings, 54 songs in all. What better way to complete your Bobby Darin collection or get acquainted with the lesser known works of this classic vocalist than with this import.

When I purchased this I was mostly interested in hearing Darin's version of "Once Upon A Time", one of my favorites. He did not disappoint........it was beautifully done. Other favorites were "The Shadow of Your Smile", "I'll Only Miss Her When I Think of Her", "The Other Half of Me" and "The Sweetheart Tree". Bobby really had a way with a ballad. On the up-tempo side "Mame" and "Fabulous Places" come to mind. The only song I could have done without was "The Ballad of Cat Ballou". I consider this 3 CD set a worthwhile purchase for the serious Darin collector.

I must admit, I was skeptical that I'd like this one at first.
Especially, when I saw that had evidently flipped the photo on the cover.

It took a little while to receive.
But, when I got it and put it in the player....WOW!

The sound is clean and crystal clear.

And even includes some countdown and studio chatter.
A nice little extra.
My suggestion, is to put it in your player and just let it play through.
What a treat.
