Editorial Reviews

This Happening is the debut EP from Minneapolis three-piece Is/Is. Four tracks evoke comparisons to Black Tambourine and Mazzy Star as water-tight pop melodies float delicately atop a tumultuous sea of fuzzed-out guitar swells and heart-shuddering rhythmic surges. Weave with rainbow ties to your heart, pull it out, and devour in an ecstasy of violence and humanizing passion. Recorded in part by Neil Weir at Old Blackberry way also produced, recorded and mixed by Red Pens frontman Howard Hamilton III.

Debut EP from Minneapolis all female trio with former members of Gospel Gossip & First
Communion Afterparty. You get walls of fuzzed-out psychedelic guitar soundscraping, cascading
over sensual pop melodies--a devastating tornado blast of swirling feedback with a bluesy,
candy-coated heroine pop center. Shades of Weekend, Galaxie 500, the Pixies, Summer Cats,
The Pains Of Being Pure At Heart, Spacemen 3, Velvet Underground.
