cumulative rhyme, April 22, 2005
This review is from: This Is the House That Was Tidy and Neat (Hardcover)
This is a simple picture book written as a cumulative rhyme. It's about a little boy and girl who stay with their nanny while their mom and day are away. The little boy and girl make a big mess in the house while the nanny is busy doing other chores. When the dad comes home they all try to clean the house before the mom gets back. When the mom arrives the house is clean again and she never suspects a thing!
The cumulative rhyme would make it a great read aloud to young children. By the end of the book they will be "reading" the book along with the storyteller.
Young children will be able to relate to the boy and the girl in the story well.

great book, July 5, 2009
This review is from: This Is the House That Was Tidy and Neat (Hardcover)
I really like to read this book to my daughter. It is fun with rhymes and a cute story line, and I like that it breaks gender stereotypes of who works and who can clean the house.
