5.0 out of 5 stars Absolutely Amazing - Especially for FREE!
I have gotten tired of iTunes giving us singles of the week that are drab and bland so I have recently begun getting the weeky free MP3 downloads from Amazon. I was blown away by this offering. In only one album Amazon has destroyed nearly all of the previous 52 weeks of iTunes. I was not a big fan of the Apples in Stereo but their song "Can You Feel It?" on this album...

3.0 out of 5 stars Some Nice Tunes
The nice thing about this sampler is downloading the ones you like. I found 3, and since they're free, why complain? They are all songs from artists I did not recognize, which is part of the point-expansion of our musical worlds. Now I will look for other music from these artists. Thanks, Amazon.

I have gotten tired of iTunes giving us singles of the week that are drab and bland so I have recently begun getting the weeky free MP3 downloads from Amazon. I was blown away by this offering. In only one album Amazon has destroyed nearly all of the previous 52 weeks of iTunes. I was not a big fan of the Apples in Stereo but their song "Can You Feel It?" on this album has made me a fan. I have a very eclectic taste in music so I enjoyed all of the songs, especially "Brandy Alexander" by Ron Sexsmith and "The Club" by Nick Lowe. They are both laid back type of songs that one can easily listen to on the patio while driking some lemonade, beer, or iced tea watching the day go by. This is truly an amazing sampler from Amazon and thank you again for the free great tunes!

4.0 out of 5 stars suprisingly good, December 4, 2008
This review is from: This Is How I Roc: 2008 Yep Roc Label Sampler (MP3 Download)
I was suprised how good some of the songs are. It being free certainly made it even better. The variety was enough that I was not bored and I could enjoy the different nuances of indie roc music. Very cool.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent sampler, February 8, 2009
This review is from: This Is How I Roc: 2008 Yep Roc Label Sampler (MP3 Download)
This is an excellent sampler and I can not believe it is free. Do yourself a favor and download it before you end up paying for these songs. Many of the songs have been in my heavy rotation for quite some time, especially Ron Sexsmith, the good Reverend Horton Heat, Sloan, and Loudon Wainwritght III. The Nick Lowe song it disappointing, but just a small speed bump on an otherwise great mix.

Always nice to find a freebie, and these are really great tunes. I especially love "The Club" by British rocker Nick Lowe. I may have to find more of his stuff now. It rocks! The song has a kind of a retro 50's rock style, but is very modern in its edginess and tone. The rest of the songs are all terrific also. Thanks, Amazon!!!
