Cody Canada and Friends at their Best!!,
This review is from: This Is Indian Land (Audio CD)
I am a recent Cross Canadian fan. By the time I listened and was really getting into the music, I found out the band retired. Then I was excited to hear their was new music coming out from Cody under the Band name Departed! Went to see them at Horseshoe Casino last winter and couldn't wait until the album came out!! I am not disapointed!!

Love this album. With all the Oklahoma kings of music supplying the material, how could it be bad? Add that to the HUGE stockpile of talent in this new group and it's no wonder they are already pulling big audiences in. Many of the songs I heard for the first time and felt like I'd heard them before. ALWAYS a clue that you're getting something special in your ears.
I can't wait to hear their own material. If you are looking for this album to pick up where "Ragweed" left off you may be immediately disappointed, but give it a couple listens and you'll certainly be a fan.

Cody Canada and The Departed have arrived,
This review is from: This Is Indian Land (Audio CD)
Skipping the usual history lesson of Cody Canada and Cross Canadian Ragweed, let's jump right into this record. Yes it is a record. You can order it on vinyl. If you went to a music festival in 1975 and heard The Doors, J.J. Cale, The Eagles, and Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show, you would have music swimming in your head like this. This tribute to Oklahoma music reaches far beyond Oklahoma, Texas and Tennessee and this eclectic collection of music can take you off that L.A. freeway or New York subway and remind you of what life is all about.
