I've been a "Bomb Squad" member since I first saw Cherri Bomb's cover of "The Pretender" on Youtube. I bought their first EP the day it came out.

With their latest and greatest debut album,"This is the End of Control", Cherri Bomb has now set the bar for what good old fashioned Rock 'n Roll should sound like. Never mind the fact that this band is made up of four teenage girls with amazing talent; the sheer variety and quality of this album is absolutely fantastic. Each song has a different feel, enough variety to keep things interesting and fresh, but every song can still be considered "Rock". These gals not only have substance with their instrumental abilities, they also bring their outstanding vocals to the table. The songs themselves really drive home personal turmoil and emotion through powerful lyrics.

Bottom Line:
If you're someone who enjoys modern Rock Music with names like Foo Fighters, Shinedown, Nickelback, Soundgarden, and so on, you won't want to miss this CD. I would highly recommend this album.

Rock on Cherri Bomb!

I consider myself a classic rock fan and can be very picky about getting into newer bands but Cherri Bomb delivers the rock. This album is a must have for any rock music fan looking to discover some new bands.

HOLY COW! GIMME MO! This album rocks from start to finish with great musicianship, great voices, and good songs. If you love rock, you can't go wrong with this one. It starts with TAKE THIS NOW, a melodic blend of voices that just grabs you immediately and won't let you go; then it slaps you in the face with BETTER THIS WAY and knocks you on your butt. Other great mentions are RAW,REAL; TOO MANY FACES; LET IT GO; and HEART IS A HOLE. However, there are NO bad songs on the album. 2 guitars, a bass guitar, drums, and some keyboards - and they know how to use them. The voices are all fantastic no matter who is singing and they each sing lead and background. Normally I'm a little critical of new bands, but this band knows what it's doing and they sound great. Can't wait for the next album. I had never heard of this band, it was recommended by Amazon, and I'm GLAD I spent the money. It was well worth it.

First Off, let me say that I LOVED Cherri Bomb's Stark EP. I burned out every song on that album. Every track was a big rock anthem with memorable hooks and great instrumentation. And yes, the age of the band made them even more amazing (as EVERY reviewer HAS to mention lol).

So when I heard the full length album was coming, I couldn't wait. But what a curveball these girls threw! This album was NOT what I expecting. Whereas Stark was Big and Bold, "End" is grittier and raw. Kinda like Nevermind compared to In Utero. And it's like the girls grew up and got more cynical or angsty. And I mention all these things as positives.

After listening to the album for a week solid around the clock, I can say that the production here is a departure from Stark. Stark had a nice bottom end, sort of like 80's rock. Crisp and clean. Vocals cut through the instruments very distinctivley. On End, the band uses vocal distortion quite a bit, especially evident on tracks where Rena sings. And all around there is a garage band sensibilty on the tones and sound of the album as a whole. I don't hear a clear bottom end as I did on Stark (Im a bass player so maybe I'm biased though!)

Again, not what I was expecting, but they DO pull it off VERY WELL (and props to CB for re-using only one song off Stark). The tracks are varied enough to give a great listening experience also. "Raw.Real" has a great vocal team up from two of the Bombs... "Hold On" has a great crunch and another great angsty delivery from Rena (I'm a big fan of her voice)... "Shake the ground" waaaay better theme for Avengers than that tired sounding Soundgarden song ... "Better this way" is alive with urgency .... "Sac Lamb" cool slow burn and nice buildup to a hard rocking finish... "Take this now" Man, what a great little harmony track. I wish they would have made it a full length song!

ONE NOTE: A few people mention that the band is perhaps manufactured. I can hardly belive that. The songs display a level IM-maturity that lends itself to have been written by teens. Some songs have basically the same rythm and there is a predictability to the song structures. Also, too many faces' opening chords totally sounds like the bridge to Everlong. These things collectively tell me that no marketing group made up this band. It reeks of youthful earnest, teenagers making music that they feel (BUT I do not have the liner notes, so if I am wrong, please correct me)

This band, this album absolutely lives up to the hype. "RAW.REAL" INDEED

Buy IT!

This album will knock you on your as... from the first track "Take This Now" they hit you with a sound that Freddie Mercury would have been proud of. Each song is a well constructed sonic psycho trip that will take you and shake you, moving from track to track. You can almost pick out their influences, but the sound is exclusively theirs. Other tracks that stood out for me were Raw. Deal., Heart is a hole, Take This Now... Better This Way... all of them, really. Love it.

I thankfully came across Cherri Bomb's perfect cover of the Foo Fighters "The Pretender" in early 2012, immediately bought their EP "Stark" (and you should get it, too), and then anxiously waited for the release of This Is The End Of Control. It quickly became my favorite CD of 2012, it was just about the only thing I listened to for the 4 months after its release. It was no surprise at all to learn that the Foo Fighters are a big influence to the members of Cherri Bomb, it is amazing that at such young ages (14-16yrs old at the time This Is The End of Control was released), Julia, Nia, Rena, and Miranda have released one of the best rock albums of the year. They've captured the frenetic energy of their live shows and infused it into the songs on this CD. It's been quite some time since I was this instantly impressed by a band.

"Take This Now" is a short teaser that highlights the fact that all four members of Cherri Bomb can sing and harmonize together (and in fact each one has at least one lead vocal song on this CD).

Uptempo songs on this CD include "Better This Way", "Let It Go", "Drawing a Blank", and "Paper Doll". These are the songs you blast as you're speeding down the highway with the top down on a sunny summer day. If forced to choose a favorite song off the entire CD, I'd have to choose "Paper Doll", Miranda's lead vocal song.

"Raw.Real.", "Shake the Ground", "Act the Part", and "Hold On" are the mid-tempo rockers that bring a wall of sound with them. "Shake the Ground" appears on the Avengers soundtrack as well, and easily holds its own along side songs from Soundgarden, Buckcherry, Shinedown, and Evanescence. Rena (bass player) gets to step up to the lead vocal position on "Act the Part" and "Hold On" and shares duties with lead guitarist/vocalist Julia on "Raw.Real".

A video was recently shot for "Too Many Faces", a song that incorporates just about everything Cherri Bomb does so well: multipart harmonies, a touch of keyboards, and a mix of quieter verses that open up to big, thundering choruses.

"Sacrificial Lamb" lets drummer Nia Lovelis step out and sing lead on a gritty sounding song featuring some dirty slide guitar work from Julia.

"Heart is a Hole" is the only slower song here, it's a solid ballad, reminds me a bit of Halestorm's slower songs.

Regardless of their young age, the talented, gifted, driven ladies of Cherri Bomb have an instant classic debut album on their hands. I highly recommend you get it into your hands and into your ears as soon as possible!

And what about this album? There's a deeply dark and excitingly heavy sound that you would likely never expect from teenage girls.

The standout tracks on This Is The End Of Control include Let It Go, Raw.Real., Too Many Faces and Better This Way. My absolute favorite is Shake The Ground, which was also featured in The Avengers movie earlier this summer. Yes, there are few high school freshman and sophomore ladies with such a wonderful and impressive collective musical resume in hand. In fact, many seasoned professionals would kill for a resume that was half as extensive. All of which begs the question: If these young ladies are this good at such a young age, how incredible will they be ten years from now? It also begs another question: Will they still be as impassioned in their profession as they grow older? Of course, only time will tell, but right now, Cherri Bomb are certainly on top of the hard rock world. They have an album that is a definite keeper, a song in a major motion picture soundtrack and their potential ceiling is absolutely limitless. Just a normal adolescent existence, right? --- Michael Canter - Jivewired

Some may be drawn to them merely because Cherri Bomb is a bit unique with its all girl members, and others may be curious to see what musicians who are so young can actually accomplish is a full album format...but the bottom line is that their music is excellent. From their impressive harmonies to a command of their instruments, Cherri Bomb is a group to watch.

This album is quite obviously their first foray into a multi-song release as the songs types are widely varied in both their sound and musical influence, seeming to indicate that they're at a point where they are exploring all available avenues to find their own signature sound.

The instrument composition is a bit simple at times and there is room to grow with adding more complexity to their sound, but what they do bring on this album is polished and very well executed. Their live performance videos on YouTube show just how good they are already and it's again obvious that these girls are not relying on studio tricks to make them sound good.

Give Cherri Bomb a listen and you won't regret your purchase!

The only negative I can think of on this CD is that the lyrics are less than spectacular...most of the songs sound like rebellious teenagers who hate their parents and have had broken hearts (which makes sense since they are all females under 18, heh heh)...the lyrics are similar/repetitive in some of the songs, uncreative in others, and some of the lyrics seem forced like they were trying to write a really awesome song by putting together one-liners...so lyrically, the album is very average, maybe a little less, with the exceptions of maybe "Too Many Faces", and "Drawing a Blank"...

Other than that, though, this album is great. Instrumentally, it is spectacular. I have listened to it quite a bit in the last week. Songs get stuck in my head (which is always a sign that something is catchy). If it weren't for the lyrical content, this would be a solid five stars. But I am excited to see what their next album is like. If they can mature a little bit, I think their next album has the potential to be phenomenal. Still, this is a really good first album.
