5.0 out of 5 stars BOI YOU CRAZY?!! May 8, 2012
By Ken78

TANK....First off mann you are the "GENERAL" of R&B! Your song "Underrated" best describes you!...How you manage to spit out hits after hits after hits is truly a blessing from GOD, Please DON'T CHANGE YOUR STYLE FOR ANYONE! This CD is a baby maker, romantic, LET'S TEAR THIS BEDROOM UP! type of music that most so called R&B artist try to duplicate but fail every time! Your perspective from a mans point of view is what is needed in the R&B game and I for one appreciate it! THIS CD IS ON POINT!! WELL WORTH THE PURCHASE!! If you are a true r&b fan then you will love this! I'm a 80's baby where I remember names like Jodeci, Shai, Joe, Dave Hollister and such so Tank madd respect for you! PLEASE KEEP DOING WHAT YOU DO!

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid R&B Effort; Better Than 'Now or Never' May 23, 2012
Format:Audio CD
As modern as Tank may try to portray himself, Tank's voice hearkens back to `old-school' adult R&B, which is the in the `minority' unfortunately. Regardless of Tank's dismal commercial lot, This Is How I Feel is a stronger showing for the R&B singer than 2010's Now Or Never was. Tank and producers attempt to change the formula ever so slightly by incorporating more hip-hop qualities as well as more overt, sensual lyrics. The effects work, even if at times the innuendo is ever so slightly overwrought. Regardless, Tank remains in sound voice and shines throughout.

The intro "How I Feel (Intro)" sets up the sometimes salacious, self-confident nature of This Is How I Feel from the first line Tank utters claiming he's "...the baddest mother [bleep] in the world..." Despite his overconfidence, the use of harmonized background vocals and lush, urban production work foreshadow the soundness that makes This Is How I Feel so appealing. "Lonely," featuring the ubiquitous Chris Brown is certainly a better collaboration between the two than "Foreplay" was from Now or Never. The production is lush and tailor made to Tank's sensual, romantic voice. Much like the intro, Tank's much more overt and explicit. Certainly the grinding groove incites Tank's inspired performance. The only drawback - the cut is almost five minutes long.

"Your One" is less enthralling than "Lonely," but solid. Soulful guitars and hip drum programming characterize this production. The cut could use some extra finesse though; more background vocals would have energized the cut more. "Compliments (Interlude)" follows, featuring Kris Stephens foreshadowing the full track.

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Tank Enough Said!! May 9, 2012
Format:Audio CD
He delivers once again. Only a few artist never change and it works for them. Tank has to be one of them. He has stayed true to his craft and it shows all over this album. Pushing skip on Tanks album is a no no, every song is on point. Stop procrastinating and get this grown and sexy work of art. #ThatIsAll :)

4.0 out of 5 stars BlackAmarillo.com Review May 8, 2012
Format:Audio CD|Amazon Verified Purchase
Durrell Babbs better known as "Tank" has released his 5th studio project "This Is How I Feel"
Since R. Kelly is considered the "KING of R&B", Usher the "PRINCE of R&B" well Tank is indeed the "GENERAL of R&B".

"This Is How I feel" is what I call the new generation style of R&B. Slow, melodic, futuristic & seductive. Something you can pretty much strip to even though I'm not a stripper..LOL!

"This Is How I feel" sounds like something that Jamie Foxx would do but I'm really feeling this project more than I did "Now or Never" in 2010. I also like the 2 songs on the deluxe version "Underrated & "Crazy" which also includes the video "Underrated"

"This Is How I feel" also features Chris Brown, Busta Rhymes, T.I., Kris Stephens & Kevin McCall

My favorite song is "Your One" but I'm also feeling "Lonely" f/ Chris Brown, Don't Give Up, Off Your Hands, "This Is How I Feel" & "Better Than Me" I love the lyrics on "Better Than Me".

Overall I have to salute the "GENERAL of R&B" for a well done project from beginning to end.

Enjoy :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Solid but..... June 13, 2012
By Sony
Format:Audio CD
As I live tank and this new album, it is nothing different from his last one. It's his style and he's good at it and I'm not sure what else I'd like to hear from him but all his songs sound the same and that drags for me but its still solid. Tank has the voice, sex appeal and knows how to tug at the panties (lol) but once I'd like to hear something else...no complaints because I bought it..his sayin....

3.0 out of 5 stars Goodmusicradar.com review June 13, 2012
Format:MP3 Music
This Is How I Feel is the fifth album from R&B/Soul singer Tank. Tank is a veteran in the R&B scene, but has yet to really breakthrough into the mainstream as a star in the R&B genre or in the music scene. Tankfs voice takes you back to the sounds heard on old school 80s R&B and the album brings back the now mostly lost 80s R&B sound.

Tank doesnft really have a commercial sound to him that you would hear constantly on many radio stations, so I understand why he hasnft become a star in the music scene. Even though this album may not gain Tank commercial success, the album will greatly please fans of R&B and fans of what Tank has previously released. The album is consistent throughout and is infused with some hip hop sounds mixed into some of the songs on the album. This Is How I Feel is one of Tankfs better releases, although itfs too bad that his music isnft visible outside of R&B music.

Tankfs songwriting and singing abilities are great and are shown off on each track on the album in this album filled with sensual old school R&B music. The album features T.I., Kevin McCall, Busta Rhymes, Chris Brown and Chris Stephens. Almost all of the features are great and add to the song except for Busta Rhymesfs feature on Nowhere which was my least favorite track on the album. On the other hand T.I., Kevin McCall, Chris Stephens and Chris Brown all have great features on the album and are featured on three of my top five songs from the album.

With This Is How I Feel, Tank delivers yet another good R&B album, but with the album most of the songs sound extremely similar and it would have been nice to see Tank show more versatility and exit his comfort zone for a song or two on the project.

If Tank isn't credited for 95% of the babies made in 2013, then something is wrong. This album is sex, sex, sex, and cuddling... I loved it, he is still making good music.

Missing three tracks
The 13-song tracklisting is actual for the digital album. When you download the album, it has the intro and the 2 interludes. The actual CD does not have that.
