5.0 out of 5 stars Louis is beyond compare, June 1, 2002
By
Dan in DC (Washington DC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: This Is Jazz 23: Sings (Audio CD)
Louis Armstrong, the voice, the horn, the man, should be a part of everyone's life. The songs on this CD are amazing and moving, ranging from rough early cuts from the young Armstrong in Chicago to his later hits and sentimental tunes like Mack the Knife and Summer Song. The Sunny Side of the Street alone soars above the boundaries of most popular music to become an irresistible celebration of the human spirit. These songs will move, elate, and astound you. No one sings like Louis. No one swings like Louis. Long live Satchmo.

This review is from: This Is Jazz 23: Sings (Audio CD)
After listening to several of his selections, I found the collection to be relaxing and uplifting. It made me want to go back in time just to be part of the audience.
