Before she hit the commercial big time, Aretha was a jazz and blues belter. This collection is a great introduction to a young Aretha finding her voice and paying tribute to the great Dinah Washington on many tracks - you will hear the resemblance but also hear Aretha. Great songs, Passionate voice. One can get the Dinah tribute or get this one. Both are worthwhile.
