Toddlers will love sliding the pieces back and forth and seeing how different animals act. Simple words, actions, and pictures make these titles fine interactive first books for baby. (Ages 1-4)

We have several of the books in this series, and this book is the only one that has a "turning" page, instead of just up and down or left to right. The cover of the book shows the dog, and the child is supposed to use his finger to make the dog's tail wag. The motion requires kind of a circular movement, and our book did not work this way. It just gets stuck. The rest of the pages work fine, and the rest of the series is great, but I was disappointed with the first page of this book. Maybe other peoples' books work fine, though.

My active 16 month-old does not have the dexterity to manipulate this book yet so I gave it to her cousin, who is 2. My then 3 year-old loved it and could manipulate it well. For the younger set I would recommend the Munch Munch title in this series--it is easy for younger toddlers to work as it just has slots to move in and out. Lastly, the books do separate from the binding and you will have to buy them again, but at 3.50 can you really be mad about that?

This book is great for little active hands. Its a Pop-up kind of thing (the moving parts of pop-ups, not the actual 3D stuff) all made of thick card board so its pretty indestructable. That is, except for the cover. I'm not sure what they were thinking. Its a single piece of cardboard, flimsier than cereal box cardboard. I'm not sure why they did that, especially since the reverse of the cover is the first page of the book. The rest of the pages (and back cover) are all thicker than even the sturdiest boardbook. I still give it a solid rating though - sometimes you just have to wonder what people are thinking.
