5.0 out of 5 stars awesome
The entire cd is awesome but my favorite songs are Lions, Slide Girl, and Be Not Afraid. The music is totally inspirational, before you know it you'll be singing along with the catchy lyrics and tunes. The best way to hear the music, however, is live. Mike and George add something to their shows that just isn't found in the cd.

3.0 out of 5 stars A few I was looking for; the rest not to my taste
I was looking for a few specific tracks (Baby, Lions, Slide Girl) which I'd heard elsewhere, and which get a good 4.5 (I'm less a fan of Lost And Found's style than their songs). I wasn't overly impressed by the rest of the songs on the CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars "This" is a mighty fine CD, June 28, 2004
This review is from: This (Audio CD)
Lost and Found sounds like nothing else I have ever heard. In the midst of the endless sea of over-produced, hyper-commercialized "popular" Christian music and the recent trend of artists jumping on the praise and worship bandwagon with its "7/11" songs, L&F is a refreshing change. I love the depth and poetic nature of many of their lyrics; songs that speak not only of our passion for God but also embrace and proclaim timeless truths and doctrines...not that every L&F song is serious...many of them are just fun! Their music has a raw, unrefined edge to it...and it is so original in style: most of the time just an acoustic guitar and piano played in their signature "speedwood" style.

Of the four L&F CD's I've seen available on Amazon, "This" is probably my 2nd favorite. One interesting feature is that following every song there is a varying tag of "Remember Me". My favorite songs are "Remember Me", "He's a Friend", "Harken", "Must Be", and "Cling to the Cross." Two of their most popular songs are the last two tracks on this CD: "Baby" and "Lions".

"This" is a great start to L&F if you're a new listener, and a must have if you've enjoyed their other work. If you've only seen them in concert, it's a little different than their recorded work...not bad...just different. If you've never seem L&F in concert, you really should...they're great...and no two shows are the same!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Music, Great Message, October 22, 2004

I have to admit that I've been a fan of Michael and George since I first saw them at the 2000 ELCA Youth Gathering. I immediately fell in love with their music and message. The whole youth group liked them. I am one of their numerous #1 fans.

THIS is a great CD. The only song that does not have a religious message is "I Liked You More." It is a song about a guy who sees a girl who he is no longer dating now. However, even these songs help people relate to them. It shows they know what life is like. There are a few songs like this and just a few silly songs as well.

The best way to expecience Lost And Found is in concert. However, if you want to find out about them, and just start listening to their music, THIS, is the best CD to get.

Yes, they are supposed to sound like that. If you don't like the CD at first, listen to it again. These songs will grow on you. Lots of times you have to find that one song you really like, and then you'll start to like the others.

All of their songs make great sing along songs, too. Kids love them, adults love them, and they have the best message: "God spoke a word of love whose name is Jesus."

5.0 out of 5 stars These Guys Are Awesome, February 25, 2002
This review is from: This (Audio CD)
I first heard Lost and Found at CHIC 2K in Knoxville, Tennessee. While I struggled initially to enjoy the style of these two unique musicians, I wound up really liking their music. Though they are a bit nasal, this album is truly awesome, because it is honest, sincere and truthful. Rarely do songs deliver such simple messages in such meaningful ways. The track "Harken" is a beautiful prayer which reminds me of God's grace and love for me. What a great album.

5.0 out of 5 stars Lots of their more entheusiastic songs, December 24, 2005
By
This review is from: This (Audio CD)
This is a good cd by Lost and Found. It is a bit lacking in the slow, sad song department, but nonetheless it is very good. This is also their most popular album, probably because it has a lot of their popular, loud entheusiastic songs (Lions, Be Not Afraid, New Creation, etc.), which, while I love them, are not my favorite part of Lost and Found. Don't get me wrong, I would gladly choose to listen to this over any cd not by Lost and Found, but there are other Lost and Found cds I would pick over this one (notable the Speedwood series). If you're new to Lost and Found, I would definitely reccomend that you get this one and one of their Speedwood cds to start out with.
Unfortunately, the theme song for this cd is Remember Me, which has one line which repeats over and over. I'm not a big fan of songs with one or two lines (I don't really like Everybody Matters on Something Different for the same reason), so the fact that they play the tune over and over is kind of annoying.

5.0 out of 5 stars Awesome!!, September 23, 2004

These guys rock! These guys have a wide range of music talent and the songs that they have written really magnify their ability. Unlike many other artists they have a very fresh sound that gets exemplified by being able to one minute be playing an off-the-wall fast song and in the next minute be playing an emotionally charged slow song. This is the real deal.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Best Acoustic-Punk-Gospel-Thrash You'll Ever Hear, January 28, 2003
By
This review is from: This (Audio CD)
My appointment of 5 stars for this album is a lot like your typical Star Wars fanatic giving "The Phantom Menace" or "Attack of the Clones" five stars, so don't expect "Citizen Kane" from this album. That said, Lost and Found are an amazing musical duo. The intensity and passion that they bring to their live shows is clearly evident on THIS (though for a better feel for their concerts, I recommend picking up one or all three of their Speedwood albums). I first laid ears on Lost and Found in 1995, and my enthusiasm for their brand of acoustic punk hasn't waned. As other reviewers have said, you have to see these guys live to really appreciate what they're all about.

THIS is a compilation of new songs with material that was originally released on some of their earlier albums, given some freshness and unity through studio recording and the use of the same refrain after nearly every track. For my part, I think the live versions of "Baby" and "Lions" (some examples of LaF's best songwriting and musicianship) found on Speedwood were better than those presented in THIS, but they still sound great. The best of the new songs would have to be "Cling to the Cross"--a repetitive song, but purposely so. The lyrics and progression stay with you long after you've taken the headphones off. THIS is the right album to get if you're just getting acquainted with the band.

Note: Do not throw the CD away after hearing the first thirty seconds (or minutes). Yes, it's supposed to sound that way. It will grow on you.

I just saw Lost and Found perform in St. Louis at the ELCA Youth Gathering and these guys were so good! I tend to not buy much Christian music but Mike and George are just so good! Slide Girl, Baby, and Lions are definately the best songs. I highly recommend this album, espcially if you were at the gathering!

Lost and Found rocks. They are the best band ever!! George and Michael are just so awsome rocking away on the guitar and piano. Their lyrics are inspirational and can definitly relate to you. If you ever see them in concert, they are so entertaining and funny.....I've been a LAF fan for about two years now....and every album just gets better and better. I have all (7) of their CD's, and 3 of their tapes......They make singing fun and things are always different....THIS is their best selling CD, not only because it has Lions in it, but because of the fast tempo of the songs, and the meanings....You have got to check them out, there is no way you could not like them.....I am a HUGE fan, probably one of the biggest (not to brag or anything....)
