Windblown and spare, March 18, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: This Migrant Earth (Paperback)
I read This Migrant Earth while attending Rolando Hinojosa-Smith's Literature of the Southwest course. Once I became accustomed to the novel's sparse descriptions and dialog driven plot, I could not put it down. The tenacity of the impoverished characters fascinated me.

Bad translation, July 3, 2010
This review is from: This Migrant Earth (Paperback)
This is a terrible translation of the original Rivera work. If you want to get the real feeling of "Y No Se Lo Trago La Tierra," read other translations. This does a great disservice to Rivera and his work.
